I'm from Rochester NY. If you can stop at Fairport NY and check it out , it's a great little town. They probably all look the same to you though. Great video series. Keep them coming. People love living vicariously through others wishing we could do what you do.

There’s a scrap metal facility at the industrial area you passed that loads scrap metal on ships and sends it to China. That’s one hell of a boat ride.

Hope you had good gloves for the locks -- the ropes are really grotty. I used big blow-up round fenders for the whole Erie Canal and they were terrific. Agree with comment below to stop in Fairport -- it is a terrific town, lots of restaurants and very lively.

This is so great! I grew up along the Hudson in Poughkeepsie and went to school in Albany and Schenectady have family in Syracuse with a house they moved to to be near the walking trails of the canal/so very familiar with the area but so great to see from this perspective I was a history teacher and the canal history is so important in terms of US history and expansion. my brother lives in Fairport, and when I go to visit him, we walk along the canal too! Love The video thanks for making.
