Boat VHF Antenna Issues? | Antenna breakage | FK & Camera

I broke my antenna many times, and this time I decided to replace it. I replaced it with Shakespeare 8' antenna.

Tip: Never loop & coil excessive cable! It creates a magnetic field reducing the performance of the VHF!

@@FKCamVlogs i believe also that the coax is part of the antenna so if you cut the excess off, your SWR may go way out of wack and could cause you to burn up the final transistors for transmitting power output and basically the radio is a anchor and not worth anything

The manual had two options, solder and non solder. I went with non solder.

Um no that messes with the SWR and causes massive Loss it needs to be 1 cable with the connector on the end this is a bad way to do it and could lead to your radio burn out fwd amp will burn up the radio check the SWR and Check field strength where the cut is SIMPLE NEVER CUT AND REPAIR IT CUT AND STRIP AND SOLDER ON A CONNECTOR IF ITS TO SHORT GET A NEW ANTENNA SPEND MONEY ANTENNA IS WHAT MAKES YOU RADIO WORK DON'T CHEEP OUT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAY I DO THIS FOR A LIVING SINCE I WAS 12 YO I USE THE PHASE 3 LINE FROM SHAKESPEARE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A SWR METER IS OR FIELD STRENGTH OR UNDERSTAND GAIN PM ME I CAN HELP YOU NEVER FORGET HEIGHT IS MIGHT
