Great episode and good on you for living life like this. So many of us get stuck in a rut and have regrets. At least we get to live vicariously through people like yourself. Thank you for sharing. 😊

I went to Bora Bora in 2001 and swam with the black tips❤ this brings back wonderful memories! I also put my hand down on a sea urchin by accident when my leg ran aground on a reef, cut my leg open, that was nothing, get 12 spines from sea urchin in my hand, my arm went numb immediately and the boat captain came out to look at my hand, I knew enough not to bring it out of the water, he counted 12 and took me back to the boat, we were lucky there was a nurse in our group and she said I should have it looked at, I then turned to the old boat captain and said "what do you think", he said when you go back to your over the water bungalow pee on it as much as you can, mind you everytime you go in the water it will sting! So, do you want me to take you back or do you want to go swim with the stingrays, I said "no I don't want to go back" I paid to see and swim with them and I'm going even if I only have one good arm. So I went to see them and swim with them, my hand really hurt, but my grandfather was a whaler and I imagined how tough he must have been to do that job for 40 years of his life. I saw that experience as a way of the sea initiating me, I never saw a doctor, my hand hurt for a good month, not to many people can say "I swam with black tip sharks and then I ran aground on a large reef with my leg and cut it open then got stung by a sea urchin and then went to swim with stingrays, and it all happened in Bora Bora❤ I will keep following you for more adventures!

with all your experiences on different vessels what's your favourite system? B&G vs Raymarine etc... thanks
@WhatInTheWorld_Tom6 ай бұрын
For me, Raymarine. That's not to say it's better. It's just what I'm used to, and in my opinion, it's more user-friendly
@dancampbell81496 ай бұрын
We like the B&G but friends replacing and asked me, thought I’d ask you. Thanks!

Love the show but you are nutz not wearing UV protective long sleeve Ts or a wide brimmed hat. You mention how many times you have major sun burns .Is your nickname "Bacon" ....as you are getting fried too often. I worry about skin cancer in later years...Sunscreen good as well...Take care and quit getting fried ...
@WhatInTheWorld_Tom6 ай бұрын
I appreciate the concern Bob, and I'm glad you're enjoying the channel! You will be pleased to hear that I do now own multiple uv long-sleeved sheets, and I do wear sunscreen. Half the time when I say I'm sunburnt, I'm actually wind burnt and I just don't know it at the time 🙂 Cheers mate 🤙
