Having had a boat with carpeting, you will find it is more difficult to keep clean, but more important, is the cockpit will get super hot on bright days. All the best luck with it.

It’s outdoor carpet and has raised bumps at the bottom for drainage so washing it down isn’t a problem!

Ya know if ya havin problems with the kids they do make good fish bait. Fingers, toes, toungue and ears are great for jigging. The rest you can use on hooks or mince for berly.

Problem with carpet(even the best money can buy) is that it takes a long time to dry. Get fish all over it and it's a bugger to clean. and will start to stink. It's not bad if you hose, scrub it down a lot . Much better to use grey colored anti skid paint

Problem with carpet is no matter what it's made of it will get mold and mildew. The current floor is way better for a fishing boat IMHO.
