OK.....this is just TOO weird!! My wife literally JUST asked me YESTERDAY how much it costs for lock fees!!! I did look it up on the Google machine but you made it more interesting with you video snippets! Thanks Paul and stay safe!!

That is awesome! Glad you found it interesting :-) Believe it or not, that seven minute production represents very nearly a full day's worth of effort, so I'm happy it hit the mark with you. Cheers, Paul.

Thanks Paul ! Very nice to have this all explained! Can you tell us about camping and use of shore power?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the next one will be all about mooring and fees.
@stephenfleming79184 жыл бұрын
A little pricey. They’ve waived the Erie and Champlain canals lock fees in New York up until 2021
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm aware of the no fees situation on the Erie Canal. It's a great way to promote use not only for locals, but to a wider group of visiting boaters. Hope to cruise those waters in the not too distant future!

$150 for my 19ft boat, $50 for 12ft canoe. 2023 price for both Trent and Rideau one way, book early!

I'm sure that the people that own these boats, and I'm obviously not one of them, will find the change in the seats of the craft to pay the fees.

Great information. Thanks. I didn't see anything about payment methods. So do I have to pay in cash or can I use a credit card?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo2 жыл бұрын
Best all them ahead to see what payment they take. Some folks are still a little skittish on handling paper money 🙄
@shawnwood98754 жыл бұрын
When you buy any pass, do you display it somewhere on the boat so the dock hands can see?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
The daily + six day passes are on a slip of paper that one would show to the lock staff when passing through. Fir the annual pass, it's a sticker that goes on the windshield.
@jamesnelick85744 жыл бұрын
Very informative! With the seasonal lockage and mooring permit, WHERE does that entitle you to moor?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
This video only talks about LOCKAGES, and permits mentioned do not include mooring. I will be producing a separate video on that in the coming days 👍
@ianadkins4714 жыл бұрын
Great info... thanks! Have you heard any rumors if they will extend the opening past June 1?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
No rumors, as I shared that announcement on my Facebook Page awhile back that ALL Parks Canada's properties as well as the historical canals (TSW, Rideau, etc.) are closed until June 1st.

Using the locks on the Columbia and Snake rivers does not cost anything. When approaching the locks, how do you inform the lock master of the details of your pass?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
I have an upcoming video that looks at how one goes through the locks. The whole process is quite easy actually, as most times we simply drive straight in - no muss, no fuss :-)
@bigbaytreasure2 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! Do they require your boat registration and or boat name to receive your your day pass? Also do they check your vessel for all equipment and safety gear?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they'll ask for registration number, or boat name. No safety checks required and the whole process is very simple and easy.

Just wondering, what pass do you normally get for the season? Do you change every year? Thanks 😊⛴🚢🛥🛳🚤😎🇨🇦
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
Depends on where we are going. If, as in the past two years, we plan on spending lots of time on the Trent Severn Waterway, we'll get the full season's pass. If the destination is Georgian Bay for our summer holidays, we get the six day pass.
@lkndrifter40034 жыл бұрын
How does the mooring along the canal work. That is additional? Also is that the same on all parks Canada waterways
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
Mooring is seperate and I'll be posting a video on that in the coming days 👍
@twopie23 жыл бұрын
I'm considering doing a trip with my kayak through the Trent. I have no experience with locks. Will they charge me based on a 12 foot kayak? Do you recommend that I may be better off to portage around the locks?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, 12' is the minimum charge for lock passes. Locking through is not an issue, as we've seen numerous kayaks, canoes and even a guy on a surf board one year!
@TheBigDumbWhiteGuy2 жыл бұрын
Question (I realize it's two years after you published this). I see that there must be a 'separate lock permit' if you are towing another craft (dinghy etc). Does this apply if said dinghy is up on Davits on the rear platform or only if it's floating in the water? Similarly if I have a kayak on the bow of the boat will I have to pay a permit to lock through on that craft as well or only the actual watercraft length that is displacing water?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo2 жыл бұрын
The only time one would need a separate lock permit is if that craft is being towed in the water. If it's on the boat, a lift or lashed to the deck, another permit fee isn't required.

Hey do you know if boat launches will open in the next few weeks or if I can launch right now or not? I've been trying to search for info but cant really find anything clear on it. Thanks for the videos Boogaboo!
@BoatingWithBoogaboo4 жыл бұрын
Umm, couldn't tell you that, as I have no idea of where you are located/refering to. I can tell you that our LOCAL launch ramps on Lake Simcoe are not only closed, but have physical barriers in front of them.

@@WildLikeGanja We are all eager to get back in the water, but safety comes first. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I'm okay with a later launch this year, as we gotta get past the virus, or non of us will be boating for a long time. . . And happy 4/20 ;-)
