Boating on Hangzhou's West Lake (Why Aren't UK Waterways This Clean?)

Join us for another China VLOG as we take one of the world's most beautiful boat rides on Hangzhou's West Lake. Despite the rain, this was still an incredible experience; like sailing in an ink painting. Plus, we couldn't get over how clean it was compared to the current state of rivers and waterways back in the UK.

I was in Hangzhou last week. I think anyone that's serious with their gardening should go visit this city, go visit all the temples on the mountains and all the gardens that goes with them. The only issue I had was there were too many people, very chaotic, although, it was the labour day holidays and I was one of those people adding to the problem so I guess I don't have the right to complain.

Seeing it reminded me of my trip to West Lake about 20 years ago. The lake was already very well maintained and managed then. But I went by bike mostly around the lake and roads cut through the lake. It was a short visit for less than a day so I didn't get time to explore. If I go again definitely will try the boating.
