Wife and I decided what the best part of boating was. cocktails on board, Cocktails at restaurants, and cocktails at bars. Worst part is expensive repairs

Been to Fisherman's Village and Burnt Store Marina although never by boat. Unfortunately our favorite store at Fisherman's Village was closed down last year.

Which store? I miss the military museum.

It was down at the far end that had all the nautical stuff in it. I can't remember the name of it but we bought several metal sculpture type things like fish and boats that you hung on the wall.@@AdventuresofHappyOurs

I'm surprised Meridian put such small engines in that boat. On my 38 Sundancer, I have the big blocks 8.1
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Underpowered but fine for putting around.

Thanks for the video. Im buying my first live aboard trawler next summer, very excited. Im gonna get the best deal I can and some of the older boats dont have central AC, couldn't I just use portable AC's of course I'll need a good generator, and like sailboats i've considered solar panels, in your experience is that viable or should I just pay more for a boat with good central air?
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
Many older trawler types boats are able to use window AC units(Albin trawlers for instance). However a water cooled AC unit isn’t too hard to have installed. Solar will not be able to keep up with air conditioning units very long even with a large battery bank.

You had your tabs all the way down when you gave it full throttle?
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
Get the best speed with full tabs on her.
@rodd8125 Жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs That's strange. Most boats like tabs down to get to a plane and then once you're up you retract them to reduce surface area and drag.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
@rodd8125 agreed, but the heavy stern and lack of power needs the tabs. Newer models have the 8.1 mercruisers. Some 341’s also have “hooks” added to the prop tunnels to increase lift. Unique to these boats.

Just curious what’s the cost to fill the Big girl up when she was that low on fuel?
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
Depends on fuel costs which is about $5.75/gallon currently. This fill up cost about $900

I have the smalller 6.2 motors. Not enough up for this boat. At wide open throttle I get about 40 gallons per hour total.
