Interesting. Common theme from many and very good advice. No.1. Weather. If in doubt, don’t go out. Check the weather. Then if you are going out No.2. Make sure your engine is 100%. Without that you are stuck. There were a few other things, all important but they seemed to be the top two. What surprised me was no one said anything about navigation. Perhaps as they all sailed locally and were experienced and knew the area like the back of their hand. None said to have proper navigation aids. Chart-plotter ( and paper chart in case of electronics issues). If you don’t know where you are how can you get to safety? In addition to that, if things are that bad, then a method to signal for help. VHF radio and distress flares. Great videos and good to hear from experienced skippers.

Great Videos. Lots of good advice. Love the accents some of the people have. He is so right about the engine maintenance. I have a few things to take care of before I purchase a new engine. So much quieter than the old 2 stroke. Will use less petrol also. Love your channel Your friend Alabama Smokey Wilson ROCK ON BUDDY!
