Another great video..after 25 in the uk truck driving..last year we did some test run deliveries to are Howdens stores in France and Belgium,I’m of Tuesday to Belgium and apparently it’s going to be a regular thing 😊😊😊 with nearly 50 stores it France it should be fun..

Hi, Could you explain the ferry movement for your tachograph and how that impacts your daily rest please. I’m driving in the UK currently but start European work in May this year. Thanks Darren

Ooo I’ll try. So, the idea of the ferry movement function is to allow you to get on and off a ferry or train whilst you are on your daily break. There are a few rules that need to be followed to do this. You must have access to a bunk or couchette whilst on board, so it cannot be used on the short eastern crossings, Dover/Calais or Eurotrunnel etc. You can interrupt your break twice but both times added together cannot be more than 1 hour. Any time used in these movements must be added to your break meaning, that the total time your wheels are stopped and you are on break is at least 11 hours. There is no restriction on how many times a week you use the ferry movement function as long as all the rules are followed. Hope this helps. You will find many tutorial videos on KZbin.

You arrive at port [end shift] and put tacho on [break]. You are now allowed two movements to split daily rest which must not add up to more than one (1) hour. Your daily rest must also be eleven (11) hours. So your shift before [end] cannot be more than thirteen (13) hours. You then put the [boat entry] (which is in; - entry vehicle, main menu) into the tacho to board ship or train (for example 20mins). Park on boat and put tacho back to [break/rest]. Put back on [boat] to leave ship (for example you now have 40mins to leave ship and park up to resume rest) Park up and put back on [rest] to finish daily rest. Enter [start shift] and [start country] after your rest. If you've completed your rest on ship just enter [start shift] and [start country] on ship and drive off. 🚛✌🏼

Thanks for watching. Under the tachograph rules & regulations,after 6 x 24hr shifts, a driver must take a 45hr rest period. This can be reduced to 24hrs under certain circumstances. More information can be found at www.gov.uk/tachograph

Thanks for posting, I couldn’t believe it when you showed going across country, on the bumpy road between Cariñena Fuendejalon and just short of Gallur. Does it stiil have the poor surface? Last time we travelled that way was February 2020 just slightly in front of covid and the road was better but still rough in places.

It managed ok, it is a 500. It does out pull a lot of straight sixes and I honestly think it’s a good motor, it’s only because I’ve had a V8 for many years that I notice the difference. Thanks for watching.
