Sitting on the bow, sitting on the gunwale. The first contender boat looked slightly overloaded. I counted 15+ people on that boat. On another note, those Conch boats sure look nice on the water.

Boats under 26' must have a capacity plate with max persons allowed. My guess is that this boat is over 26'. Still stupid.. Really stupid. The penn craft around 3:00 is probably overloaded and if so it's illegal to have more than stated on the capacity plate. I'd bet that boat is rated for 6 people and they have 7.

@@jazzdude904 Like I said only boats under 26' are regulated for capacity and that boat is over 26'. If they have 16 pfds then it's legal but really really stupid. I had a 34' trawler and legally I could have as many people as I wanted on the boat until someone gets hurt and then sues my ass off.

Thank you for the video . I think you should have a great appreciation and respect for modern American boat building When you consistently witness boats that are grossly overloaded or witness boats that are deliberately taking an unnecessary beating and they still do their jobs everyday through no skill sets of their skippers you have to acknowledge the naval architects and designers and modern composites that made that possible . Unfortunately these vessels give the inexperienced a false feeling of security that those of us who watch these videos shutter at everyday .

The old white boat @ 4:49 is pre-1972 thirteen foot Boston Whaler. The oldest it could be is a 1958 model, the newest is a 1971 model. Solid little boats. I must admit I've never seen one rigged quite like that.

I have to ask? Is it illegal to wear a life jacket in the state of Florida, or are the boaters just that thick and arrogant that they think they have full control over the seas. I mean even little kids on the bow are without any form of flotation, in that tidal current they would get sucked out to sea in a few seconds. I mean i love to go fast in rough seas and sending the boat, i have raced powerboats in offshore class 3 and i love jumping waves but i don´t ever do it "naked" water is so much harder than it seams and for example in the inlets, if you hit your head on your way over you are going down. Loving your films anyway, i just wish the captains would be a little more caring of there passengers!!! Keep on filming it´s awesome!!!!!!!!

Erik Arnstrom Ahh you got me there, i live and do all my boating in Sweden and the Baltic sea and Norway and the north sea. It’s so tru it’s a free country both US and Sweden and fully up to each person, i just think that in the name of self presurvation it may be a good idea to use a life jacket in fast boat in rough seas. In regards to cycling i have no idea, i”m rocking a wheelchair on land and this year a 22 fot batboat with a 200 XS on the transom good for about 70 knots🤗😁

That girl sitting on the stern of the boat with nothing to hang onto, no life jacket and she looks upset. Aw, I bet her boyfriend is the one laying on the bow. I should have my father in law watch these. He will critique because he's so obsessed with plaining the boat to what it should be. OMG he drives me crazy bc I grew up on powerboats on Lake Erie, he only knows sailing which is a completely different ballgame. He's 82 years young, though everything has to be done his way. The lines to his new 24.4' Pursuit are tied to the "floating dock so you never have to adjust the lines when you're docking". So that means every time he docks, he has to put the boat right in line and as close to the dock as possible to tie the boat. I'm not sure they understand the concept of the floating dock.
