I work in the heavy truck electrical vehicle industry I came over from the diesel and CNG industry and it's an honor to work on electric vehicles and I'm happy to see that the technology is going to the Marine Application. I've touched them all XOS Phoenix motor car, Zeus, Green Power, BYD, Volvo, Brightdrop-GM, Motiv etc.

This tech will suit many, not all of us but electric marine power has a positive future for sure. And it's from Canukistan, bonus.

200 nautical miles and I'm in. This won't get me to the tuna, let alone troll and come back. Still a start must be made for progress to happen.

If two engines would make it faster on take off then why not have a twin perpellas on one engine that would spread out and make a wish bone affect on take off and then merge into one perpella again when speed is attained for less drag on motor. Just a thought.

what if imma cool wif 12- 15 mph no need 20 or faster? could say a cheaper 90 HP version do this on a micro 21-26 feet trawler u think?

Requires shore power which increases the chance of corrosion. Weight of batteries? How much space does the batteries take? 50nm is not that far compared to how much fuel I can put on my Yamaha obs. My OBs take 5 mins to refuel, this takes 8 hours. Clearly electric is the future but this is not there yet.

Is vision marine technologies Making any motors in lower hp amounts, I have seen a personal project boat 1860 boat, with a elco electric motor, running about 20-24mph, yes, I'm hopefully interested, but why so dam expensive, what does the battery cost,

It is due to come. It sounds such an anachronism to go on the water smelling fumes and not being able to hear one another...while being in a natural environment.
@ct1762 Жыл бұрын
what fumes lol? you apparently haven't used a modern fuel injected 4 stroke outboard in the last 20 years. they are smooth as silk, extremely reliable, quite as it needs to be, no smoke, and most importantly has power and range to spare at 1/4 the price.
@jnicksnewstart2 жыл бұрын
You can buy a lot of fuel for the extra cost of this system over that of a gas or diesel

What they should do is to partner with Hydro-Québec because Vision Marine is from Québec. Hydro-Québec are developing a battery with solid electrolytic cell instead of liquid electrolytic cell, which cost less, way cheaper, way lighter and have better energy density, so why not

Ca prend Princecraft comme partner aussi.

Cool idea....but nobody wants to spend a lot more money to carry around all that battery weight. maybe in 10 years when batteries are way smaller and lighter.
@gregmilhausen81313 ай бұрын
But lots of weight would not be not needed to go with this set up. My pontoon has a 485 lb. Yamaha F150 and a 47 gallon gasoline tank with 282 lbs.of fuel that would remove almost 800 lbs. including the tank.

Electric motors are not and I mean are not the way of the future! If you don't believe me go look at what happens to electric golf carts after about 5 years. The batteries cost more than the golf carts are worth! Yes the first 4 to 5 years are great until your batteries won't hold a charge anymore! Just like a cell phone! Gas golf carts are worth more (Resale Value) are always ready, and maintain Peak power after a long hard day of work! On a final note remember when I said batteries are only good for 4 to 5 years max! Most loans are that same length of time, so the minute you pay it off, you are right back in debt to buy new batteries. Gasoline for me, you can do what you want to
@donkanis61412 жыл бұрын
Yep and there is absolutely no research and development on batteries. We might as well go back to gas engines right now .

First impression is everything. Remember that. You straight up lied to everyone watching this video. Yah its electric and no smoke or bla bla bla. Cool. And yet you are gonna tell me that you filmed that test run to see how the boat got on plane with seven people aboard and clearly there was only 2. Come on man. Get a clue. They're behind the camera my butt. Basic false information to sell a product. No thank you.
