Really nice bowrider, but with all the time we spend on our extended swim platform I'll take my I/O over outboards ANY day. Still, great review and a welcome 11 minute escape from the workday.

Mercury is really pushing outboards hard at the moment - so much so that they are offering boat builders huge discounts. They are struggling in the competition with Volvo and Ilmor, because they are still doing the same old big blocks and small blocks. I spoke to Scott Porter from Formula about this about two month agos. We are replacing our 2011 310 SS with a new 310 SS, and when we were at the factory doing the spec and talking outboards, he looked like someone who was about to hang himself when outboards came up. But that's the market currently and people feel like they get a more reliable package that is easier to maintain. But we're sticking with I/O and have ordered ours with Ilmor MV-8 570's.

I got excited seeing a test video of a bow rider. I really like this channel but I kinda feel it should be called yachttest. It’s rare lately to see anything sub300k. I’m sure there are tons of boats to test that are affordable by anyone not part of the 1%.

Quick question about the GPH reported in this .. 5000 rpm you were using 33.1 GPH and at 6000 rpm you were using 17.1. Haven’t seen a boat use less fuel at a higher rpm. Besides from that I think I just fell in love with this boat. Keep the videos coming on performance open bows.

yup I would tend to agree - same top speed, more range, shallower draft, and half the price. Or even better yet save another $50k and get a 242 s.e.

They said a few negatives about this boat like every other boat. Most "reviews" from others are just a guy taking a tour around it saying "yeah i think the engines have 350 horsepower, and i heard that this has Mercury outboards"
