I am the proud owner of a sportsman’s 232 open 2021 model. It has most of the options I have enjoyed it 30 miles offshore on days of good weather and she only drafts 18 inches for inshore days. Something this captain failed to mention is the advantages of bigger boats now offering a trolling motor. It’s a game changer. No need to drop an anchor. Just push a button and trolling motor will anchor lock over the fishing spot. And always remember for the next trip.

Market price on a good center console 23-25ft range is anywhere from 60,000-120,000 just depends on the options and motors any offshore motor itself is 20,000-35,000 new so a 28 ft boat with dual 300. You are starting at that amount.

"How well are you protected from crosswind and spray." Any center console means you're boating in the weather instead of being protected from that. That means sun, salt, wind and sweat and thus you need to dress appropriately bring as much fluids to drink as possible and lard up on the sun protection.

I would use it for transporting people. No use for fishing purpose. A Consol should be where it should be the most important. It would be used in the open waters. What kind would be recommended by your standard.
