Bob Aladeniyi was an outstanding guitarist. It's great to know he is still waxing strong with his own band at over 70 years of age. I like him very much.

Reminds me strongly of my former band leader Segun Awe, also ex Ebenezer over guitarist. Same focus : revolutionizing juju music. They had the genius ambition of making Juju more interesting with the addition of horns. I believe they were both sabotaged. Juju today is sinking.

Bob Aladeniyi probably came before his time. He pioneer the afrojuju genre which Sir Shina Peter later popularized. He would have been more of a success had he persevered the more. Nothing good comes easy, they say. The second factor that played against him was the manner he parted with KSA. People turned the separation against him and made Sunny to look like victim of betrayal.

People do not make Sunny Ade look like a victim, he-Sunny was actually a victim of betrayers.

@@michaelakinola7144 you said it all. KSA career is replete with betrayers. Remember the Tokyo world tour mutiny-Bob ohiri etal in 1984. He had to disband the group.

His strength is not in vocals but guitar and solo guitar in particular. His exit from KSA’s band to form his own band was not properly thought out. If a teacher says he can do the job of a lawyer because both of them talk, the outcome doesn’t need the help of Nostradamus. He is now a band leader but this record of his is far below the level of juju music standard as of the time it was released. Like any business venture, owing a ten percent stake in an adequately capitalized company is more advisable than one hundred percent ownership of an underfunded company. All said and done, nothing ventured results to nothing gained. At least KSA also left his bosses to establish his band. I wish Bob, a great success in his musical career.

Bob Aladeniyi was a fantastic accompany-guitarist to King Sunny Ade that was always placed in his special class by the King in any of his outings. He was lured by Baba Abioro during Abioro's crisis with Sunny Ade just like Emperor Pick Peters. He had a good music but he lacked the necessary voice which Baba should have invested on to re-polish. The craze for human beings to be their own masters in their fields have two sides- triumph or defeat. In case of Bob, it was the latter. He incurred more enemies than friends since many liked King Sunny Ade and thought that he (Bob) was being used by Baba to plot the downfall of King Sunny Ade. However, the King rose from the problems but Bob was down. It's a lesson for all.

Bob Aladeniyi was one of the Band members of KSA during the African Spot era. He was more of an instrumentalist than a vocalist. This may have accounted for his limited success after he established his own band.

Green Spot not African Spot. Isaiah Kehinde Dario was Blue Spot.

You nailed it. He was a master Guitarist, not a lead vocal.

He was one of the wannabees that Late Bolarinwa Abioro of TYC Records tried to manipulate to scorn KSA during their contract battles in the 70s. Needless to say, like Emperor Pick Peter, Abioro used and dumped Bob Aladeniyi too. Aladeniyi was (and perhaps still is) a tremendously good guitarist but a very weak composer and vocalist. He wasn't the complete package.

No doubt Bob Aladeniyi is gifted with playing the guitar but he is not a good vocalist. During his career as band leader he was unable to re-enact his performance with KSA.
@olaolaleye77242 жыл бұрын
This is a very poor outing. The reason being that Bob Aladeniyi was not given the talent by God to be a vocalist. He only wants to force himself to be like his master King Sunny Ade. Anything that was done in the spirit of envy and overambition is not always successful. Period.
