When Beamon was 9 years old living in New York he heard a percussion solo thru the kitchen window, he was fascinated from the first moment, but too poor to buy an own drum kit. So he looked where to get a chance to practice, he found one in a dancing school. Learned fast and was hired, and very, very proud. With 16 he bought his first drum kit and played and practiced many nights to become a great drummer. Many bands hired him at that time. Beamon dreamt to become a basketball pro, too, and was also great as an athlete (as we know), so he had to decide between sports and music. But he knew: you have to deliver something very, very outstanding, extraordinary to become "someone" and to reach your dreams. So Beamon learned the same thing Shaolin masters teach their pupils: FOCUS on ONE thing, or you wont become ANYthing in life! Of course he jumped 8,90m, but music was and still is his daily source of power. Today he owns more than 10.000 vinyls and CDs in his living room, jazz, funk, hip-hop. And Beamon still is a drumming master - since long and until today he practices 4-5 hours a day! His idols are Art Blakey, Max Roach, Freddie Waits, Tony Williams, Joe Chambers and Bobby Thomas Jr. (why not Denis Chambers or Billy Cobham? 🤔) Where is the connection to long jump? Rhythm, Beamon says. Without the perfect run you never jump far. And Beamon knows: you can play music on a high level until you die, in sports this is impossible. His current band is named "Stix Bones and The Bone Squad" and we are waiting for their new album! Go, Mr. Drumming Man Beamon! 🥁

Боб сразу на две стопы улучшил свой рекорд с 830 до 890 ,в сантиметрах он не разбирался и это его счастье и счастье всех болельщиков и любителей королевы спорта.
