Captain Andy, Devine Intervention🙏🏻 Bobby Brooksher as he was known at Gainesville High School, is a great old time friend and fellow Graduate of the class of 1974. We had our 50th class reunion in September. Bobby was on the committee to organize our Red Elephant Historic Event. He doesn’t live far from me. Bunch of us guys meet for Breakfast second Monday of the month. You have a Special Invitation to meet with us as long as you bring Merchandise for sale and give Autographs?!? We knew Bobby was there as he attends the Celebration every year. Word spread fast when we heard he was helping. He and Wife are great folks and they know everything about our North Georgia Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. When you want a mountain tour and visit, just say when you are ready and we will fix you up. Even tour Lake Lanier by water- sorry no shrimp. Your North Georgia connections keep getting bigger and bigger👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻 PS: Bobby and Brother Billy are Master Whitewater Kayakers. We paddled all these mountain rivers.

It’s neat to hear the play by play from someone that was there because he’s recalling a moment that was so chaotic but he went into action without hesitation…. Hats off to Bob and everyone else that went into action to save as many as they could

Thank you for the update and very grateful for Bob Brooksher for saving lives. Many of us knew or knew of these people. Very grateful for all the people who helped in any way. That current is so strong for good swimmers but non swimmers and elderly or injured…. 😢. I have been in that and it took everything I had to get out. Ladders on the unusable docking sides! Ladders! No dock should be without something. Common water sense.

My cousin's husband Chaplain Charles L Houston Jr. was one of the seven that lost his life. I am thankful that his daughter who was with him also fell into the water she made it ok and is in good physical health. I talked with Charle's daughter after the celebration of life service this past weekend.

💔🙏 He will be missed by multitudes. He grew up in the same place I did. Very grateful his daughter made it out of the water and is physically in good condition. Sending prayers for healing the rest of the way.

Great Job Bob, many rescuers have died trying to save people and animals, glad it worked out for him. BTW love the statue in the background playing peep-a-poo.

I was one of the people who held the 80yr old woman from the side of the dock. I would love to connect with Bob if possible.
