The baby's name is Zuri. I saw an interview with her parents and lil Zuri was smiling and happy and healthy, thank God. She is only about 4 mos. old.

Thank you Andy and thank you Roy Boyd. It all happened so fast! Super fast thinking. Wow! Retrieve and repeat as rapidly as possible. Not one wasted moment during that rescue. To all who helped anyone, thank you! This is especially moving to me because of growing up in the waters around the area. When you pull someone out of those dark currents, you never forget. The first thing I did after seeing video was to start asking about that baby. I was so relieved when someone watching the news messaged me via that news channel utube that the baby was okay. Andy, if that was you… thank you! Whoever that was, thank you! The only time I ever had to pull someone out, it was a small child and this brought back a lot for me even though it was many decades past. So many precious people and so little help. Rescuers did heroic things that day. Truly heroic! No act was small. Mr. Boyd, you and the others are all heros. All! I cannot stress this enough.

In these crazy times it's important to remember that a huge number of seemingly ordinary people around us are heroes under the skin.

@@MinorcanMulletI also had audio issues when the interview started. My phone only does mono unless connected to another device. I connected by Bluetooth to my dewalt radio and it sounds fine.

I don't know why the platform is having this problem. I am not doing anything different, but the mono to stereo trick is resolving the issue for most

Definitely heroic efforts. Thanks to the quick action of this man and others, people were rescued. The drama is still fresh in his mind, which is why he described it the way he did. Honestly, it was near slack tide, light chop, and light winds. The Noreaster wasn't a factor. Plus it was a sunny day. deaths were people over 70 that had weak swimming skills. The younger and swim capable self rescued. Not so sure a hinged gangplank is designed to be used to hold a large vessel. The boat pilot/captain has some explaining to do.

The only solution we have found is for your device to be switched to stereo. In all cases, the problem was viewers were watching with their devices set to mono.
@gilbertfagley78373 ай бұрын
Good interview! Sound problems in mono. Switched to stereo, it was fine. Sounds like the stereo is out of sync (echo) so one channel is canceling out the other when you play it mono. ( Right + (Left * -1) = 0 (mono) )

Its definitely tragic. I'm sure they had to have had weight limits. Aluminum struckers don't need much maintenance. I just see an overloaded gangway. Now days it's all about seeing who we can sue and make s little money off of others deaths. Instead it should be common sense you don't overload a walk way. That's like over loading an elevator, just because it can hold 24 doesn't mean it can support theyre mostly over weight asses
@jerzecandy3 ай бұрын
Wow what a vile statement. How would passengers boarding the ferry crossing the gangway know what the weight limits are?
