The greatest closing statements of any NBA Finals ever. Costas was on point with every thing he said.

Bob Costas knew exactly right where the NBA was and where they were headed at that point in time.

Yep. Bird, Magic, and MJ, never played for anyone else, but the Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls, respectively. You definitely can't same the same thing about LeBron James. They're main supporting cast (except Jordan; whom the supporting cast from the first threepeat changed except Pippen), but Parish and McHale (Bird's), Kareem, James Worthy (Magic), were with those teams when they needed them most. Grant left during MJ's first retirement, as did Armstrong, and Paxson retired, but Kucoc (ch), Rodman, and Steve Kerr were his main supporting cast for the second threepeat.

Bob Costas is beyond articulate, the way he used words to describe the moments and events that took place is poetry itself.

Bob was pretty much accurate here with the future. But no one predicted players recruiting others to create superteams instead of doing it the old fashioned way of drafting and developing talent.

Oh man….nothing was better in the 90s than listening to the Bob Costas NBC pregame narration for the nba finals…never actually listened to his postgame until today

Bob Costas was right when teams had great players that represented their teams they would become familiar and their matchups. That truly changed in the 2010's when Lebron and KD left their teams. The super team was in all honesty the end of teams having a tradition of familiar cast.

Yep and it never was; this was the high point for the league. If you look at a line chart of league popularity from year 1 to year 5000 if it goes that long, this may very well forever be the high point of the NBA.

Hi all. 1. Bob Cutlass, the sports announcer from the Piston Cup in the original Cars movie, took me here, since Cutlass is voiced by Bob Costas. I can’t find any video on KZbin about Cutlass and his original English voice, so I have come here to comment the voice of Cutlass, since this video is all about his voice actor, and I personally consider this video the most relevant video for it. The original English voice of Cutlass, sounds so awesome, and it sounds american with a huge A. I personally consider american English the coolest and the most futuristic language in the whole world, and also ”the language of tomorrow”. Three other cool things about the american English language, that I need to get off my chest: 2. I remember when I once dreamed about that the whole earth would be USA. In other words, one single country called USE (United States of Earth). Need I describe in this comment how everything in the whole world would be like then? 🙂 3. One other cool thing about the american English language, that I’m thinking about. NOTE that it’s just an imagination, so don’t take me too seriously - from one decade on, in the future, every single language in the whole world, except american English, will be boycotted and deleted, since it becomes more and more important for the whole world to cooperate and work together for stuff, so then it will be the most simple and flexible with only one language existing. 4. I am Swedish, born in Sweden, have lived in Sweden in my entire life and I have Swedish as my native language. Sometimes I can get irritated with the Swedish language, and then one reason can be that someone with Swedish as their primary language says something that irritates me, in Swedish. Then it feels good for me to ”use the american English language as a weapon to deal with my feelings”. If you want me to explain more, feel free to let me know by replying to this comment. 🙂 Thanks for reading this. I hope you liked/enjoyed it. 😊😎

I wonder had Marv Albert not had the serious allegations against him, would we have ever heard this remark from Bob Costas on NBC. Sometimes in life things happen for a reason. Even though Costas is a baseball person and is known so much for hosting the Olympics, this was probably his best bit of his iconic sports media career. He hit this piece on bullseye.

Partially right in terms of player mobility and a lacking of dynasties going forward. But ironically, NOT in the NBA. Right after this, the Lakers three peated. Then the Spurs dynasty. Then the Lakers and Celtics went at it for three years. Then the Heat and Spurs. Then 4 years straight of Warriors/Cavs. However in the NFL and MLB, there hasn't been a repeat champion in just about 20 years for either league.
