He eliminated more than just HoF players. The best players who have ever played at that position. Barkley, Malone the best power forwards of all time. Magic Johnson the greatest point guard ever. John Stockton, the third greatest point guard ever (after Zeke). Oh yeah Zeke, the second greatest point guard ever. Gary Payton, maybe the greatest defensive point guard ever. Patrick Ewing one of the greatest centers ever. Reggie Miller one of the greatest clutch three point shooters of all time etc. etc...

@@dennisheyes4561I Never heard anyone use "He played against bums" or "It was watered down league" until Bron fans started to attempt to say Brons the Goat. I also never heard an argument saying Jordan was faster, stronger and could jump higher as reasons he's the 🐐 until Bron fans. Jordan was considered the 🐐 based on his dominance. Bron lives in the age of analytics, which is cool, but stats can be misleading. Bron is going to have a ton of stats, but that's longevity, not greatness.

Zenon Pyro Lebron is definitely above MJ as an athlete. He literally could’ve went to the NFL. He was the #1 prospect as a WR in Ohio. MJ was below average in the minor league. Lebron has been playing 35+ a night since he was 18 in the league and still is performing as if he was 25 at the age of 36. Jordan played on a great team. They won 55 games without him and almost went to the championship. Jordan played defense and offense ok. But he didn’t rebound assist the ball or any of that. Lebron is a superior athlete. Stronger. Faster. Smarter. Taller. Bigger. More talented. Jordan is just more accomplished. Y’all gotta separate “greatest” from “best”

Chek the facts: Jordan is the most individual decorated player in NBA history. Jordan has the highest Career point per game in regular season and playoffs, Jordan is the only player to win back-to-back to back finals MVPs, 2 times. It took lebron James 3 years to see the playoffs, Jordan got there in his rookie year. Lebron choked in 2011 finals scoring 17 points per game being guarded by Shawn Marion after going MIA. lebron James has more games scoring under 20 points in the finals (8) as MJ has his entire play offs career (6). Final lebron James single game record in finals is 18-31 (36%) which is lowest in finals history. Game over MJ 👑🐐

There is just a much difference reverence for Michael Jordan that doesn't quite exist with LeBron James. And what I notice is that it is even a different reverence among their peers in the game between Michael and LeBron. It seems as we are experiencing LeBron that we are of course watching greatness at hand but LeBron also feels very touchable if you get me. LeBron's peers aren't intimidated by him and many more guys are willing to try LeBron even though more times than not they will end up on the short side. With Michael there is a mythical feel like your watching Greek mythology in the flesh. Michael's peers either actively reveled while playing against Michael or at times there was a sense of fear and intimidation against Michael. With LeBron a lot of that may have to do with his personality which is no fault and also for the fact that we have seen Bron lose a number of times on the biggest stage in basketball most of the time. Michael has a pristine record and there is a lot more artistry in Michael's game. Kobe had much much more artistry in his game than LeBron also. The reverence overall is just staggeringly different between LeBron and Michael. I would even say there is more reverence for Kobe a little more at this point than Bron.

A lot of us watching this documentary saw it live on NBC or CBS growing up. That's why I appreciate it even more so now and personally re-affirms why I hate the comparison of the LeBron's, KD's, Steph's, Klay's, etc. of this era to who MJ was at his prime. Kobe is the only guard from the late 90s - thru the last 20 years that I think got close to him. If you asked anyone from the casual follower of hoops to the hardcore most of us would say Jordan was the best at that time even if he was responsible for denying our city a ring.

Yes, I'd forgotten about that shot. I was amazed when I saw it- double -pumped on a three to miss 2 defenders who were right in his face and almost banked it in. Missed by the slimmest of margins. Another in the long list of ancillary elements that push Jordan over the edge for GOAT. Its not just a comparison of basketball skills. Let's be honest, LeBron James can do things physically on the basketball court that MJ couldn't do as well. LeBron is bigger and stronger and he has transcendent skills. But MJ's level of competitive drive and calling on his body to do what it needs to do in the situation- LeBron just is not able to do that as consistently. But...Reggie Miller blatantly SHOVED MJ out of the way to get open for his three-pointer. Miller admitted it- smart move- "put the pressure on the officials to make that call" and he got away with it. BUT MJ NEVER UTTERED A SOUND OF COMPLAINT. Still hasn't to this day. He didn't even show any facial expression at the moment suggesting anything was wrong. What are the chances LeBron (or almost any modern player) says nothing if he is shoved in that situation?

He raised the stakes and cheques for his fellow Basketballers because of the Increased Revenue his image brought to the NBA. So many countries that were'nt big on Basketball started seeing great acceptance. He totally changed the way we see the NBA. I remember all of this as a kid growing up in the MJ era. He was larger than life and totally was the face of the NBA. There is no one in the history of the NBA that has done this much for the game all round. Michael Jordan, quite simply had absolutely no weaknesses in his game. He was the best offensive player. He was the best defensive player. He had the best mid-range game. He was the best finisher. He was one of the best post-up players. He was the most clutch player. And he was the greatest winner. There was simply no weakness in his game anywhere. Conversely, LeBron James has at least 5 glaring, major flaws in his game. First, he's a crappy free throw shooter. He's shooting under 74% for his career. And one does get the sense that at the end of games he does shy away from contact for fear of going to the Line. This is a major weakness. His second flaw is that he's been a very inconsistent defender. For several seasons he's been an outright defensive liability. Michael Jordan was one of, if not THE top defensive players in the game every year he played. The third shortcoming in LeBron's game is pretty major. He's just a shitty shooter. Yes his field goal percentage is less than a point better than Jordan’s, but Bill Cartwright has a 53% career field goal percentage. You have to put these things in context. More than one out of every three of LeBron’s shots are put backs, layups, or dunks. What does LeBron shoot when he’s 3 feet or more away from the hoop? The answer is he averages 37.5% shooting during the regular season, and an even worse 35.9% during the playoffs. Like I said, he's just a really crappy shooter. On the other hand MJ was one of the most deadly jump shooters of all time. And the final flaw in the game of LeBron James is that quite simply, as crappy a shooter as he is, he's even worse in the clutch. His teams tank when they get to the NBA finals. Jordan made it six times, won all 6, and was MVP in all 6. LeBron James has lost six of nine times in the finals. And LeBron is even worse when it comes to individual clutch moments. If we define a clutch shot as taking a shot with five seconds left in the 4th quarter or in overtime and needing a bucket to win the game or tie it, LeBron James has taken 94 shots such as these. He's made only 19 of them for an atrocious 20%. Yes, the man who claims to be the greatest player of all time has succeeded in clutch shots only 20% of the time. Conversely, Jordan has shot 50% in those moments. It really is to the point where it is just laughable that people compare LeBron James to Michael Jordan, let alone say he's better. Anyone who has eyes can clearly see that's not true. Anyone who can read statistics can clearly see that's not true. MJ was practically a perfect player. He had no weaknesses. LeBron James is a crappy free throw shooter whose teams perennially tank in the finals, who shoots 20% when the game is on the line, who has been a defensive liability for a good chunk of his career, and who is just a lousy shooter from virtually anywhere three feet or further out from the rim. I'm not even quite sure I would have LeBron James as the second best player of all time let alone the first. But one thing I can state unequivocally is that Michael Jordan IS the greatest player of all time.

1. MJ 2. Kobe 3. Bill Russell Real ballers know. Kobe is the only one close to Mike's mindset. That's what greatness is. A mindset, a toughness, a relentlessness. LeBron would be 1-8 in the Finals if Ray and Kyrie missed those 3's. The only reason LeBron is in the goat conversation is because those two shots went in. LeBron didn't even have the courage to do one dunk contest, much less take the biggest shots in the biggest moments. LeBron couldn't even take Steph Curry one-on-one with everything on the line in Game 1 of the 2018 Finals. Instead, he passed it to George Hill.

The amount of hate against LeBron is insane. I believe MJ is the GOAT. That’s simple. I also believe that LeBron is better than Kobe. LeBron has never shot his team out of a basketball game. I can back it up with numbers, made my own list based not on my opinion, but 7 categories scored on a point system I made up and scoring them based on anything they accomplished that can be applied to each category, rarer accomplishments awarded more than common ones on a descending scale, every criteria you can come up with taken into account, the categories are Winning(Titles, Playoff App., and Playoff success), Stats(Advanced & Analytics too), Playoffs(Winning reimposed and scored with Playoff stats, Advanced Stats, and Analytics and All time rankings in stats), Dominance(shortest list, who was the best at their best for the longest, years considered best player in NBA and accomplishments over that period), Individual Accomplishment (Awards, Stat Leads, etc.), Defensive (DPOY, All NBA Defense selections, etc.) and Shooting(FG, 2P, 3P, FT%, FGM, 2PM, 3PM, FTM, True shooting %, Effective FG%, and all time ranking in those stats, kinda makes a mess of the whole thing as it is mostly role players in the top 25, somehow comes out where shooting is the least important thing when you're looking at the greatest basketball player ever lol) add all there scores from each appearance together to get composite score, set a base line for whoever played the fewest seasons(Larry Bird) subtract points for those who played longer based on how much longer, bonus points for any accomplishments where they were the only one to ever do it, and... it's Jordan, shocking I know lol, you still can't make a case for Lebron over Jordan, and he is 3 years deeper than Jordan if you include tge 2 seasons as the withered Wizard where Jordan was still a top 10 player in the league in his 40s, Jordan is #1 in 3 of 7 categories, he is #2 on 2 more, top 10 in everything but shooting and above Lebron on all 6 that they are both on, and would probably rate higher in shooting as well, so with all my work and research put in, to see that no Lebron is not on Jordan's level, why would I listen to some emotional fan boy who hasn't done any of that research, who just wants to be right and therefore can't admit they're wrong tell me otherwise 🙄 Jordan is the GOAT, Lebron is not 2nd, Kareem is, Lebron is not 3rd, Bill Russell is, Lebron's title last year put him on the Mount Rushmore, he's 4th now, with a bigger gap between him and Bill Russell at 3rd than there is between Russell and Jordan on the top of the list, that's not my opinion, that's what the numbers say, hate it all you want, is what it is

There IS contesting MJ’s status as the GOAT! Other players can lay claim to that title: Kareem - 6 titles with two teams...really needs no explanation; Magic - single greatest leader ever, and could have raged 35-40 ppg if he had wanted to; Wilt - arguably the most dominant player ever, and freakishly athletic...would have dominated in any era; Kobe - MJ’s equal are both ends, won 3 titles with Shaq and 2 titles without Shaq or a sidekick...did it while LeBron, D-Wade, A.I., KG, TD, Shaq, Dirk, and J-Kidd were still in the league playing elite basketball. TD - 5 titles while Kobe, TD, Shaq, KG, LeBron, J-Kidd, Dirk, A.I., and D-Wade were in the league...most fundamentally sound player ever Bird - Dominated the 1980’s with Magic...revolutionary because he dominated without athletic abilities Oscar - ridiculously skilled player who would have dominated in any era; Shaq - Also arguably the most dominant player ever...won 3 titles with Kobe and a title without Kobe; Russell - easily the greatest winner ever...great leader and teammate...10 rings with Wilt, Nate Thurmond and others in the league! Jordan’s drawback was that the refereeing was rigged in his favor, and he played with Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Tony Kukoch (one of Europe’s greatest players ever). Jordan never won a title without Pippen, and he had a losing record against both Isiah and Bird. Time and David Stern’s directives beat them, not Jordan. I put Jordan well ahead of LeBron (who isn’t even top-10 to me), but this GOAT bullsh*t needs to stop. THERE IS NO GOAT IN ANY SPORT!

Michael Jordan is the stanard of excellence that every athelete is ultimately compared to ,in terms of legacy, his game was poetry in motion, a work of art, a thing of beauty, perhaps the most beautiful game ive ever seen.He was and still is a cultural phenomenon, he has a theme song and everything "Be Like Mike" MJ is without a doubt the undisputed Greatest of All Time.

Im, actually, glad Bob pointed that out about Zeke at the end. He stayed a true professional. I wonder how many people caught on to that during this series

Ok, so perhaps (according to Costas), Isiah didn't say anything negative about Jordan....perhaps. BUT, he did get the "push" claim wrong on the final shot. That was a handcheck, which was legal until '04, and MJ put Russell on skates with the crossover. His momentum took him out of the play. If it had been a push, MJ's arm would have demonstrated follow through, instead of falling from the hip to collect the ball on the crossover. The end.

You can't be the GOAT when you didn't go to college unlike MJ and still has less championship rings, MVPs, DPOTY and you got more finals losses than him. MJ is the gold standard.

What does not going to college have to do with being a goat? Kobe skipped college, Dwight skipped college🤔

I dont get the LeBrons, they make no sense Regular season MVP : 5 vs 4 Finals MVP : 6 vs 3 Scoring Champions : 10 vs 1 Defensive player of the year and 1st team all Defense : 1 vs 0 & 9 vs 5 national college player of the year : 1 vs 0 Against 60-win teams in the playoffs: GOAT (7-2) | LeBron (3-4) Against 70-win teams in the playoffs: GOAT is a 70-win team | LeBron (1-0)

Jordan came up in such a fearsome defensive era. The intentional fouls would get you suspended today. Not to mention the hand checking that was legal. He would be way more dominant in this era.

young guys dont think MJ is the goat, too old guys dont believe MJ is the goat. Look up Wilt's interviews, he talks the same about 80s and 90s era as 90s are talking about todays era. Kareem's generation doesnt believe MJ the goat, Dr J on First Take didnt have him in top 5
