And it was “off the dome” (no one knew Love was going to rant like/on that, though many I’m sure knew he was a jerk). Although only a few sentences, Bob’s closing remarks are worded poetically IMO. The phrasing was impressive for him likely coming up with it extemporaneously. But it’s Dylan, so we can’t be surprised by his way with words.

But even better when he says, "Peace, love, and harmony is greatly important indeed, but so is forgiveness." Sure, it could have been shade at Diana for not attending for the Supremes' induction or Paul for the Beatles' (though his reason for not putting on a nice face in public with the guys you are in court with kinda made some sense), but Bob could have easily been saying to Mike, "Before you call out others for not being in harmony, take care of your own first."

"Don't Hurt My Little Sister" brings to mind for me Elvis's "Little Sister" which I think is one of his best. Elvis isn't known for song writing by any stretch but for his image, influence, voice and style he brought and this can't be denied for so many of the greats from Springsteen to Dylan to Bono to the Beatles to Joel to Elton to Page & Plant (this list has been shortened do to lack of space) grew up idolizing him. Check out Bono's poem to Elvis called "American David". It's on KZbin.

@killthephonies Hm. He admired him. A lot. Probably more than any other contemporary. I know John said some shit about Dylan after the Beatles broke up, but Lennon said shit about everyone during that period. He continued to mention Bob in some of his songs & songs like Working Class Hero are obviously Dylan-influenced. And he quoted Dylan songs in interviews, too. And I know Dylan's Christian conversions probably turned him off, but I don't think he ever lost his respect & admiration of Dylan.
