I know the Hornsey road tavern, I was there too, went with my older brother, no longer with us, sadly, he’d never been to a concert, so it was an eye opener, god bless you Kevin , miss you every day

I was there with my mate and my sister. Two of us were sixteen, one just fifteen. We got there while Graham Parker was playing and picked our way across a sea of afghan coats and patchouli pretty much to the front. What a day. Indelible.

I will never forget this picnic. £6 for 3 hours of Bob Dylan, and the great Joan Armatrading as well.

Great. With my awful memory, I wish I'd made notes of the gigs I saw (100s) over the years, including this one. I certainly remember everyone finally getting to their feet when Bob & top hat stepped into the spotlight, allowing me to get as close to the front as I wanted, and how I was also mesmerised by him - not being a particular fan until that night. Still love the Blood on the Tracks, Desire, Street Legal period. And me and my mate retired to our tent - a transparent plastic bag from the Phurnacite factory, vaguely held up by sticks. Thanks for bringing back some other memories here too.

This was an absolutely brilliant story. Reminds me when I was skint and agreed to hand out flyers at the levellers Levelling the land 20 year tour. Came out in 91 when I was born and one of the first albums I loved. So happy I skipped trains and got to see it free for handing flyers out it was one of the best experiences even though I was on my own 😂

Great story. I was one of those who queued 24 hours in Oxford and saw Dylan on two nights in Earls Court, then also at Blackbushe. Cost me a bit more than 50 pence, but you had better seats!

We couldn't get tickets for Earls Court. The tickets for Blackbushe were £12... we packed the car with friends and went. It was my first outdoor concert. I'd seen Graham Parker before and Joan... I don't remember it being so big. It was just a lovely day and fantastic music

I was there too. We made our pilgrimage to see the Mighty Bob from The Upper George pub in Halifax. About 15 of us, plus a barrel of Tetley beer, packed into 3 vehicles . These were a green Ford Escort estate, a yellow Skoda fastback and a small red Bedford van. We left the pub at 9pm on Friday night. After calling for last orders at the last hostelry before joining the M1, and collecting Percy's brother in Windsor at about 1.30am, we finally arrived at the concert site in the early hours of Saturday morning. Paddy and myself abandoned the others as soon as the doors opened at around 7am in order to find a good spot to watch the show. Despite that, we still seemed to be a fair way back from the stage. What a day and what a gig.

I love it. Really great warm reminiscence from far happier gentler times. Magic, I was visualising the events as you were describing it. Flippin fab.

I remember his first words when he came on stage, he looked around for a second and said "God, I've never seen so many people". That was an amazing day, I still have the T-shirt I bought, alas it doesn't fit, but I'll keep it anyway.😂
