I bought Freewheelin in 1964 and nearly wore it out. Yes, a great, great song, maybe his best. I have only been playing 3 years and have no ability, if I could master this I might go onward happy. Thanks.

You can do it. Start with 200 repetitions -slowly for each chord. Then do a few 100 repetitions connecting each chord. Then start to hum along - few 100 repetitions then sing along few 100 repetitions. This is what most of us average people do to learn stuff we want to play. good luck

Thanks for this, I found it more helpful than the other tutorials of this song. Any ideas on the little run Mr Zimmerman does after verse two 'to keep her from the howling winds...'? It's all I'm missin.

It's D7/f#. So fret 200212. Pick low E, B, G, high E, low E, B, G, B, in that order and all sixteenth notes.

Unsolicited feedback: include a full rendition in the beginning or end so your audience knows if this is an arrangement they want to learn.

lesson is easy to follow BUT when it comes to the words its puzzling, as you tell us start off with 2 bars of Em9 THEN I of D7/F# THEN into G c/g to end the run. [3 bars?] should,nt it start on G 1bar Em9 Ibar D7/F# ending on G C/G.. back to G Em9 ect then Em ect ???

Ok but I would begin with playing a full verse at first for the audience to see where you're going .....

I would agree with the comment below… you titled this lesson “Girl From the North Country” and you teach the associated chords but you don’t offer even one line of the song to show how chords and lyrics come together to create a song…? Also I feel you move through the technique much too fast. You should just take a breath and slow down. Having said that I appreciate it. It helped me understand the chord positions and structure. I’ll figure out the rest..

Excellent. Suggestion: Since you are not singing, why are you using a capo? This needlessly forces your viewer to fetch a capo to play along. Very nice presentation. I see some viewers got confused. Why not post your questions in a comment. Someone will help you.
