Thanks for having this up here, the most soulful "Knockin" I have ever heard. The anguish in Dylan's voice along with Jerry's solo just rips me apart every time.

The slight imperfections make it even better than the remastered release. Beautiful.

''Just like so many times before'' was added originally by Jerry Garcia on one of his covers . Dylan introduces for first time with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on True Confessions Tour 1986 ( If I'm not wrong) . Jerrry Garcia and Bob Dylan played together for last time at RFK Stadium in Washington DC on 25 June 1995 , with Jerry as guest playing 'It Takes a Lot To Laugh ...'' and 'Rainy Day Women' . Dylan have many great artists that have covered his songs , but nobody plays Dylan as Jerry did .

Great find! Garcia's lyrics fits perfectly and gives the chorus a sense of finitude and general balance. I've singing it this way since I found it.

I saw this tour at Akron Rubber Bowl a few days earlier. Never forget how awesome it was back in our time. Remember that Tom Petty was there too (RIP).

It's possibly one of the best versions I've ever heard, Jerry Garcia's hand and voice becomes apparent. Thanks buddy.

Jerry, sounding great. Not a day goes by that I don’t still miss your playing and singing. I’m going to see Dead and Co. for the first time this year and I have mixed feelings.

Jerry seems so happy this entire tour... Then I hear Dylan wanted to quit the damn thing before it got started?!?! Only because the Dead had a higher regard for his body of work than he did!?!? What a little pissy-pants.
@LucyLennon909 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but Dylan changed his mind about quitting after he stopped in a bar and heard and was inspired by a jazz musician.

Den Film "Knocking on heavens door" habe ich nicht gesehen. Ich weiß nicht mehr, warum. Vielleicht war mir der Titel mal wieder zu "überirdisch".
@tallilaholzel46774 жыл бұрын
Es ist möglich, dass der Filmtitel mir zu sentimental war. Ich weiß, ich bin da etwas komisch. So wie Falco.

Jerry, Dylan, and Brent are just stealing this performance. Bob Weir, as usual, is kinda average.
