The best way to describe Bob Dylan in the latest part of his career is that he sounds like a mad man. Insanity. I believe he's not mad, and knows exactly what he's doing, and I can't blame him for that. I feel grateful that he's still singing.

As much as I love Dylan and his work, and I promise you he is such a great artistically inspiration for me, this live performance isn’t great/good. No matter your influence you have to deliver for what the crowd has paid for, if you can’t then you should pull the plug in time. To be harsh...Knowing that a lot of people will hate me for this...This crowd is only happy because of the fact that they are watching Bob Dylan live more then they are enjoying/appreciating the music, simple because the music is close to being “unenjoyable/unappreciable”. I mean this is the greatest respect for his art, but this performance from a musical state is bad. Excuse me for my English.
@jackd95
@jackd95 4 жыл бұрын
@@danieljohansen2049 I understand your point. And I've had that thought at his concerts too. He's not what he was. But he can't be because that was a long time ago. He's old. My grandfather couldn't even stand up at his age. I think it's more about seeing him than it is getting your concert groove on. The people going to see him know that they are seeing a living musical legend who may know he won't be doing this much longer.

Some people have absolutely no concept of what a marvel it is that Bob is still touring and he deserves the utmost respect for all that he has given and still gives us! Some of you who say you are fans and then you put down his singing... his hair? Give me a break I wonder what you accomplish in life that even comes remotely close to Bob Dylan!!! Do you have any concept of what it takes to tour like him at his age no less! Selfish ingrates! Go look in the mirror and give yourself a talking to and don’t leave until you actually find out what it means to be valiant, brave, intelligent, deep, inspiring, tenacious, brilliant, authentic, generous, and phenomenal. Then give your self a slap and realize that you still don’t get Bob Dylan at all. So maybe just shut up because you just don’t get it!!!

Mr. Moss I’ve been listening almost as long and I’ve certainly listened to pretty much everything! My point is that Bob doesn’t owe anyone anything. You think because you’ve been a fan it gives you the right to tell an ARTIST when he/she should quit??? People are hollow and shallow disrespecting Bob it’s outrageous to me! If you are a listener just to critique a performance then you are missing the true art of the music and the words and the phenomenal man that creates that art! We are so blessed to have Bob still sharing his life arts journey with us! His voice and his hair do not matter to anyone who is not just a superficial and fickle fan! Don’t try and justify it to me because I’m with Bob to the end and well beyond. You should check out his performances at Hyde Park on July 12, 2019” [He’s]got everything he needs, he’s an artist he don’t look back.” Perhaps you’re stuck in the past. Anyway listen to what you want to what ever year you want but you will never convince me that Bob should quit!!! I hope he sings himself right into eternity!

And even so, I'm pretty sure Moss may still be relevant at 78, at least as a statement for this shallow world, should she want to. Turning to Bob Dylan, he can sing however he wants, he's fucking Bob Dylan. I thank God he's healthy and still experimenting with his own music and doing live shows.

It often has a lot to do with the sound system.I found that out after hearing him in Oklahoma and Texas where the Sound systems were unbelievably crappy ...I heard people grumbling about how he just mumbled the lyrics with an intolerable gravely voice. When I got to New York for the run of shows at the Beacon I realized it wasn't him it was the for shite sound systems. In NY every note , every single word I could hear. Just beautiful! Off point but that this man has been singing for 2 hours a day for 4 o5 night a week for Years. On Murder Most Foul I think he sounds great! Warm even. I think he is one of the great singers of our time. He is always on key. His phrasing is an entire art form in and of itself. But I never, NEVER try to convince someone that he is such a master with his voice. Some can hear it and others...not so much.

This one is definitely like the version of the song that I heard when he played it at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater when I saw him on Saturday October 20th 2018. Believe it or not I could sense some tension in the crowd leading up to it that some people were starting to walk out (I guess they were expecting him to perform the songs just as they had been recorded) maybe Bob sensed it too, because he broke out into like a rolling Stone and people immediately sat back down. For me it was an incredible night getting to see the man who through his own voice and music encouraged me to start singing and playing the harmonica as well as writing my own songs. Thank you Bob and wherever you are, I hope you are doing well and you are happy!

There are videos of Bob's current version of Girl From The North Country on KZbin,.Though it's good, more like a poem with music, I prefer the previous arrangement with its beautiful cascading melody. I saw Bob doing that one at Hammersmith Apollo in 2003, when an ex-girlfriend of mine was slowly losing her fight with cancer. When he sang about her hair rolling and flowing it made me think of Lisa, as when her cancer had returned and was diagnosed as terminal she had decided to forego any treatment so she could keep her long hair - she'd lost it the first time due to the chemotherapy. Less than a month after I heard Bob sing it she died. I still miss her as much now as I did then.

I do not understand those negative posts from people like Helena the slug and some others. Why watching music you didn't like on KZbin? For example, I'm not a fan of Madonna, but I'm not going to watch her music videos and writing negative reactions on it. I just don't care. And I've got better things to do; listening to Bob, or go to his shows for example :) Nice video btw, thanks.

Excelente interpretación. Es genial tener planos de Herron concentrado en el piano, a Recile y Sexton riéndose ante el pequeño pifie de la guitarra. Se los ve mas humanizados. Muchísimas gracias.

Once upon a time you dressed so fine Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall' You thought they were all kidding you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hanging out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging your next meal How does it feel, how does it feel? To be without a home Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone Ahh you've gone to the finest schools, alright Miss Lonely But you know you only used to get juiced in it Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street And now you're gonna have to get used to it You say you never compromise With the mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibis As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And say do you want to make a deal? How does it feel, how does it feel? To be on your own, with no direction home A complete unknown, like a rolling stone Ah you never turned around to see the frowns On the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you You never understood that it ain't no good You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you You used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat Ain't it hard when you discovered that He really wasn't where it's at After he took from you everything he could steal How does it feel, how does it feel? To have on your own, with no direction home Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone Ahh princess on a steeple and all the pretty people They're all drinking, thinking that they've got it made Exchanging all precious gifts But you better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe You used to be so amused At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used Go to him he calls you, you can't refuse When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal How does it feel, ah how does it feel? To be on your own, with no direction home Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
