The lmagery you are practically in the story. Be careful not to touch the wall, there's a brand new coat of paint . The leading actor hurried by in the costume of a monk. A gentle breeze was blowing, you could feel it from outside. Etc, etc. First time I heard it, it just resonated with the wild west. Awe inspiring

Theres never been any other song like this where a whole movie was played out in a song, not even close. Only Dylan has done that, you watched a 2 hr movie listening to a song less than 9 min. Ridiculous talent. And to top it off, the song musically is foot stomping fun and great. Dude really is a genius.

There's a story possibly apocryphal about Bod Dylan and Leonard Cohan and Dylan asking Cohan how long it had taken Cohan to write Hallelujah, Cohan said about 5 years all told and Cohan asking Dylan the same question about, God gave names to all the animals, (from Slow Train Coming,) and Dylan said it took me about five minutes. I almost believe it; somehow genius seems to be hard wired into the guy.

I personally change the nearly the whole first half with the outtakes from More Blood, More Tracks for a more slow/ somber tone. However, I keep this song as it is. I feel that the juxtaposition in tempo and "fun-ness" gives a bit of variety. I also replace "Meet Me in the Morning" with "Up To Me". Nonetheless, this album is arguably the greatest album from a lyrical standpoint (not musically) of all time. This and Abbey Road (arguably the greatest album from a musical standpoint) are my top 2 favorites, Blood on the Tracks always leaning to the top spot.

Blod on The track. Detta är nog ett av mina favoriter från Dylan och tangel up in blue, är det närmaste perfektion i att visa talang som få. Men det är underdrift och det är bara han som är i en egen klass. 😮😮😮😮❤😮

I think this song is second only to "Tangled Up In Blue". Both are so descriptive of a story but TUIB includes a depth of feeling and loss not expressed here.

There isn't enough appreciation I could express for the man's music. My biggest fear is waking up to another life in which Dylan doesn't exist. He's been a profoundly important bridge builder, piecing together lost and forgotten realms within my being. It's a silly thought though because Bobby's always been here within the smoke rings of our mind...

I started listening to Bob Dylan & Joan Baez in early 60's. Went to a concert in Raleigh, NC (1963) that Baez was headlining. Didn't know that Dylan was going to be there. He blew my mind with his creativity. Blowing in the Wind, Mr Tambourine Man, Like a Rolling Stone, etc. That's why he won the Nobel Prize.
