This whole show which is recorded on Dylans album Hard Rain is the most punk thing ever. Real loose and rocking. Great versions and solid jamming. One of his best and often overlooked. Great concert, great record

I've often thought the same. It was punk before 'punk', the level of passion & raw energy. This tour was many months before The Damned released their 1st record in the UK, and a full year before the Sex Pistols & the Clash.

Bobby was Punk (in the bradest sense of the term, he still is, putting out an xmas album which is just a giant middle finger to everyone who took him seriously, which is ultimately genius and hilarious. HIGH art can be funny too.

Back in '76, I recorded this concert from NBC by holding my little cassette recorder up to the tiny TV speaker. Fidelity was crap, but I played that tape 'til there was nothing left of it. Not all of the songs made it to the Hard Rain album, and some of these I haven't heard in decades. Mid-seventies Dylan is my favorite Dylan!

Worth noting are the words: Down the street the dogs are barkin' And the day is gettin' dark As the night comes in a-fallin' The dogs they lose their bark the silent night will shatter From the sounds inside my mind Yes I'm one too many mornings And a thousand miles behind From the crossroads of my doorstep My eyes begin to fade And I turn my head back to the room Where my love and I have laid And I gaze back to the street, The sidewalk and the sign And I'm one too many mornings An' a thousand miles behind It's a restless hungry feeling And it don't mean no one no good Everything that I'm sayin' You can say it just as good You are right from your side I'm right from mine We're both woke too many mornings And a thousand miles behind Songwriter: Bob Dylan One Too Many Mornings lyrics © Audiam, Inc

Nancy. Well clearly those people are idiots. I'm a musician and also read music and Dylan is mind blowingly talented. Writing songs is hard. Writing great songs that are timeless classics is in another league. Dylan has a knack for creating simple yet memorable melodies then attaches the perfect lyric. I dare those lunatics to give it a shot. Lol
