One of my favorite songs of Street Legal, although I have to say Señor, Changing Of The Guards and Where Are You Tonight Are amazing too...I also find that album quite interesting because I think it's where you can really notice how Dylan's voice changed. I mean his voice is so different from the one in Desire or New Morning. I've always wondered why his voice has change so much. I guess smoking, drinking and also singing a lot affects your throat and vocal chords.

@davecespedes5674
@davecespedes5674 3 жыл бұрын
@@danmseattle975 yeah, it's interesting how almost in every album Dylan has a different voice. For people like me, who are hardcore Dylan fans, it's something cool that gives you variety and I think that even though his voice got "uglier" he always delivers in his albums. But yeah, it's weird how much a voice can change. I mean, his concerts from the Rolling Thunder Revue have different voices in both legs and obviously it sounds way different in Budokan. But like I said, it's still amazing
@danmseattle975

@@davecespedes5674 Perhaps I was too harsh about his voice on Street Legal. I saw him on the Street Legal tour (June 2, 1978, Los Angeles), and the Christian tour the next year (November 27, San Diego). Both concerts were great!

+Chase Kemp, first thing i thought. ugh. i don't blame him, but it's something humans do, did you see when the lady said at the very end of the long worshipful speech, "Mr Dylan I ask you to receive this prize.." and some guy walks past her toward were Dylan is, and he reaches to take the prize, puts his hands on it (i imagine he's thinking, "OK, OK, finally, yeah, gimme the prize, almost over.." and says "from his majesty the King," and the King stepping forward to good naturally muscle the prize away from Dylan, and then give to him, kind is smiling warmly, not Dylan, he's not one of those reciprocators. I had some laughs watching this. Then, the lady goes on and on some more about the prize, and Dylan is holding it up so people can make pictures of it, and him, he pretends to look at it, some frame with a paper in it with his name, and then two culturally attired girls come up each carrying a large floral arrangement and you can see the King realizes one if for him, and he seems to be thinking, shit, i'm just a 5th wheel around here, i don't need a bunch of flowers to hold for this, and he waves his hand as if to gesture to them not to give him this thing,a nd then he sort of unavoidably awkwardly walks away from the stage while someone who i guess is his assistant takes the flowers and stands there next to Dylan with his flowers, the assistant smiling broadly, and the king would have been doing in a typical celebration, meanwhile, Dylan still looks like 'can i go now?' and, i thought he looked more uplifted by the approaching end of the whole ordeal. Not his thing, never was.

I always cringe when people attempt to confidently talk about him before awards... I guess some get close, in parts ...occasionally. Heh, I appreciate flowers, but (as a fellow man / male) feel just the same when holding them, especially awkward ones (which are often the best). I like the way he holds himself well in any situation; original to his personality, at times with that presented humbleness (for others more than self) and always rather ethereal. I like that a lot about him. Maybe he's honest about what it is to be human; I wish more people were like it.. not everyone, but more... this world would be a better one. Maybe that's it... he seems ethereal but actually its everyone else that behaves awkward like they're from somewhere else or not comfortable / fit-in here ... there is always an air of something deeply universally authentic about him

The Bob is just not interested in playing ANYONE else' games, he genuinely does not care. Not many can get away with that. Happy birthday next week or so Bob.

The swedes love him. Europeans, Scandinavians, all over the world. And he knows it. But channeling great art makes one humble. Still, hanging on to your boldness & knowing only so many of your works truly please you are the struggles of that talent.

Dylan always looks like he doesn`t want to be where he is. I`ve seen him in other Places that give him Recognition. He`s bored with all of us. Maybe that`s why he writes such remarkable Music, you just can`t Pin him down. He`s an Enigma with always a Poem in his Head. When your Great, you never have to Prove it.
