He has been on quite a fantastic journey yet there is a sincere part of him that seems so easy to relate to. He is not like a red carpet celebrity but someone you could just end up chatting with in a diner without pretension. Even in the world of artists there is something so unique about him.

I was thinking of a series of dreams Where nothing comes up to the top Everything stays down where it's wounded And comes to a permanent stop Wasn't thinking of anything specific Like in a dream, when someone wakes up and screams Nothing too very scientific Just thinking of a series of dreams Thinking of a series of dreams Where the time and the tempo fly And there's no exit in any direction 'Cept the one that you can't see with your eyes Wasn't making any great connection Wasn't falling for any intricate scheme Nothing that would pass inspection Just thinking of a series of dreams Dreams where the umbrella is folded Into the path you are hurled And the cards are no good that you're holding Unless they're from another world In one, numbers were burning In another, I witnessed a crime In one, I was running, and in another All I seemed to be doing was climb Wasn't looking for any special assistance Not going to any great extremes I'd already gone the distance Just thinking of a series of dreams

Can't stand Arlo's "Good morning, America, how are you?" overproduced, celebratory, homogenized yap. This is a song about feeling utter helplessness and hopelessness -- and pain. Dylan's voice of exhausted, quiet anguish is spot-on. Tf, Arlo even has horns and shimmering strings laid in at the end of his crap. And the perky, "aw-shucks" "Mayberry, RFD" banjo plucking is appalling.

Pablo Picasso has been the most important & influent Artist of the First half of the twentieth century, such as Bob in the second half. None in any artistic or creative field Can Be matched to him. A Lord gift to America & the rest of the world. But I wonder does mankind deserve It? Throughout the years where human compassion, which latins called Pietas, has gone?when he left this world, than maybe we shall understood his lesson & we'll remain with the regret of an inconsolable loss.

Ramblin Gamblin Willie, Nobody cept you and then BOOM! A series of dreams wobbled my jaw like the greatest of doves. Yip. I also was kicked out many hoos pertys at the turn of the millennium for demanding I DJ. And demanding that everyone shoosh! Listen. But being intellectually deficient. They just did not get it. There comes a time in all our lives when we suddenly realised that these folks are imbociles and one must remove one's self in order to grow. Become introverted to open up the mind and surround the universe. 10 points to the winner.

I thank him happily for all the music he has done and the lyrics are so noble that no one human in this history could not possibly even attempt to top his career, its untouchable. He deserves more than a Noble Prize, he should have a Global Award of all song writer's in the world. You dont know a poet even with such incredible stanama, its impossible to reproduce. I am thankful to even be living the same time as this man he is incredibly wonderous with what he has done and will do next. Dylan was introduced to me by my first long lost love. Neither will i ever forget. Permanently in my heart.

I've been a Dylan fanatic for around 15 years and I only heard this song a year or two ago. I'm still find the odd gem I hadn't heard. Bob Dylan is the gift that keeps on giving..

I know! I've been a Dylan lover for years but only found this song about 7 years ago. One of his greats that probably could have been a hit, but he didn't push it? Wonder why? That's one reason we love Dylan, I guess.

Sally, this track was an out-take from Bob Dylan's 1989 album "Oh Mercy",which was produced by Daniel Lanois. You can hear it also from the bootleg series volumes 1-3 (rare and unreleased) 1961-1991.According to the notes from this three c.d.boxset "One track,Series of Dreams, was a fantastic, turbulent track that I felt should have been on the record but.....he had the last word". Once in a while, I go back to my Bob Dylan collection, and one or two songs will pop up that I never realized were so amazing. I have often found myself liking his song after a couple of hearings..
