I genuinely feel sorry for people who aren’t capable of opening their mind to Bob Dylan. You only live once. I’m only 28 years old but I have been a fan for 15 years. I was only 13 when I first heard his greatest hits album and I knew right away it was something special. I had never cared for music before then but I bought a guitar a couple weeks later and began writing and playing. I owe this man so much, I often think about what my life would be like if I didn’t play that album that day.

might as well throw Stree Legal & Slow Train in that basket )of Un(der) appreciated albums.....(IMHO- & i've been listening since HS when i heard 'Times they are a Changin' blaring out of a car window)..... the trilogy of BOTT/Desire/Street Legal represents the Greatest trilogy in (Dylan &) RnR !!!....right behind (actually after) that came Slow Train/Infidels/Empire (which can well be considered 2nd greatest); this, & i am in no way discounting the "early stuff" ("The Boble"- Freewhellin/Times they are/Bringin it All/Highway 61/BoB), as it had The Most Monumental affect on The World, (once again IMHO) represents the very peak of his song-writing career, altho, once again, as a fan of 60+ years (who first stumbled into The Cafe Wha in 1965-66) i am not & never will minimize even one song or album, which i have a;lways maintained 'any other artist would consider any One of his albums a career-topping achievement !'... & so, i shall not quibble, but rather 'cover it all' by saying BD is (Far & Away) the single Most important (&delicious) writer/performer in History... Period.... (i guess it's obvious that The Nobel folks finally caught-up, defining (and forever Enshrining ) him as a Giant of 'Literature' .... ...'I had a pony', 'Joey', Senor'.....FUGGETABOUTIT !!!

Love is something that death or evil cannot delete. It is way way stronger. Only if you have loved in your life, you can understand what "And I will always be emotionally yours" means... It means that you feel THAT love even if it passed away and you are driving, running errands, or working, but a particular shade of the sunlight makes you think of that person... Whatever Dylan did whether in 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or 2000s -- his legacy was and is and will be infinite, they will never found all gems, so much will stay buried. If legends like Tom Waits or Jimi Hendrix were inspired by Him, there must be a reason for that !

@elainemeyer50626 ай бұрын
I can’t honestly agree with you about Dylan being THE greatest songwriter to ‘ever walk the earth’ 🌎, but DO think he’s a 👍 ‘poet’, like Neil Young was, along with some others in his day. Their music and lyrics were WAY ahead of their time imh 70ish y.o. opinion - and little did they know just how much truth they wrote about! It’s almost as though they had a crystal ball 🔮! Like you mentioned, I’ve also always 💟’d ALL genres of music since I first started listening to it in my youth.
@R.A.D.G593 ай бұрын
I LOVE Neil as well! Harvest Moon is an absolute masterpiece in my top 10 Masterpiece albums of all time. When I comes to Dylan early work my personal favorite of his on his 60 minutes interview he said along the lines of he could never write another song like he did then today and that he has not idea where the songs came from. If Bob himself has no idea where they came from that’s wild. I believe that all music is already here in the world an artist just has to capture it and let it flow through them to us. I don’t know what it is about Bob but all the artists I listen to daily I always feel at home with Bobby! ✌🏻

@elainemeyer50626 ай бұрын
It’s not just that, but it’s his (and others like Neil Young) ‘poetic’ lyrics and meanings that have, and will, stand the test of time - many of them being even more appropriate in today’s world than when 1st written! THIS is what will never get old imh 70ish y.o. opinion - NOT the fact he’s playing acoustic 🎸 to the sound of a 🎹.

This IS part of the 'golden generation' Dylan and this IS him in his prime. I know what you're trying to say, but I think it's too bad that too many people want to focus exclusively on his 1960's work. He did many brilliant things back then, but he hasn't stopped since. His work in the 1970's in rich, diverse, challenging and beautiful beyond words. The same goes for his work from roughly 1995-now. Some of his best albums were made very recently. In between he had some solid songs, like this one

I am 49 now, I was very absorbed with Bob Dylan from the age of 20 ( 30 years ago ) I used to get mocked for loving his music and poetry. There was a time when my peers did not even know who he was, he was not in fashion when I was a fan , but I did get to see him in a stadium in Israel with an audience of about 300. I will always adore Bob Dylan and Emotionally yours is my most favourite song for so many different reasons 🙂⭐️

I think the man just went about his creative genius. The fans would treasure all his work eventually. They were use to a certain type then. I just will always love everything about him.

Of all the many, many talents Bob has, playbacking must be the most underdeveloped. But, hey, who cares when it comes to a beautiful song like this.

Classic Music Does not have an age !! That is It's Classic!! Bob Dylan is a legend that will go down in Musical History as the one that was way beyond his years with his music and the true lyrics which allow all of us to actually have some sort of Personal Identification to his songs!! My Favorite is "Blood in my eyes"...Words mean so much when spoken to the right person !!
