He had to present a lecture or he wouldn’t get the prize money. But I love the his lecture.

Thanks for posting this. I have been a huge Dylan fan since about 1964 and have loved all of his reinventions of His Bobness! All of the bootleg releases have been a great joy and a revelation to listen to. I have all of his officially released albums and bootlegs plus a few extra recordings. Well done!

Thanks for doing this one. Dylan is my number one artist..Beatles second. I attended both Rolling Thunder Shows in Toronto. Love that period.. Incredible that Dylan’s throw aways are better than most artists officially released stuff.

Great video! Bob Dylan means a lot to me also, big-time. The main purpose for starting my own channel was to talk about Dylan's albums. And I love to watch others' videos about him. Very cool. Thanks for alerting me to your channel, Norman (via your post on Mark P's video). I look forward to watching more of your videos.

. Unboxing the Cutting Edge Box Set was jawdropping...never too much Dylan for me. I will never get over Blonde on Blonde...though seeing Tell Tale Signs always makes my heart pound...it's magnificent. You make me laugh...i get you and your passion for The Man. He has inspired me, mesmerized me and completely boggled my mind for decades. .and it's been wonderful. Great video TY

Saw Dylan first time in 1988 GE Smith guitarist. The best. 1984's Real Live is what it was like. 1989 Oh Mercy is a favorite of mine. 30 years ago! Damn.

Eagerly awaiting the new Netflix film. Loved Self Portrait and Slow Train Coming from the start and cannot understand the negativity to them. Happened to pick up the Knocked Out Loaded cd for a dollar this morning. Another excellent video. Cheers from Australia

Great video and excellent collection Norman! I have a weird bootleg of The Royal Albert Hall concert I found in one of my trips to New York. I think it dates from the 70's and the cover is taken from the Subterranean Homesick Blues video where Dylan is holding a bunch of cards with the lyrics of the song - only the card he is holding says "Strip Tease"... do you know anything about this? The only thing I know is that it is not exactly the same as The Bootleg Series Vol. 4; the order of songs is the same, but I think there are more instances of Dylan interacting with the (very obnoxious) audience. Any information about this will be greatly appreciated.

I've had the 2 cd version since it came out but today I finally pulled the trigger on The Basement Tapes Complete. I've got The Cutting Edge and More Blood More Tracks but Columbia NEED to give us a deluxe edition of Desire sessions.

I have Volumes 1-3 (vinyl). Vol. 5, 9, and 10 (CD). I had Vol. 12 on vinyl, but sold it. I did keep the CDs. Blonde on Blonde is my favorite Dylan album. I also prefer those years the most compared to the rest of his career, but I was really unimpressed with the alternate takes. I was also kind of disappointed in myself for not being wowed. I just didn't see myself returning to it for too many repeated listens. That Collectors Edition looks really cool. I love Dylan, but man, I just don't know about taking in all those studio takes. I appreciate your respect for the process. For me, it was enough to just be told about it in No Direction Home. Haha... Volume 10 is so underrated. Those New Morning alternate versions are so fantastic! And of course that acoustic demo of When I Paint My Masterpiece. I also love Volume 5, and I'm really looking forward to the new bootleg release and the film on Netflix. Of all the ones that I don't have, I think I want Vol. 8 the most. My sister is a huge Dylan fan, and said that even though she's not as big of a fan of the proper albums, she was surprised at how much she liked Vol. 8. I love Oh Mercy and of course Time Out of Mind and Love and Theft. So, I'll eventually pick up Vol. 8. Okay, enough blabbering on from me. Great video. Really impressed you got all this in under 30 minutes. But, work on that Dylan impression. Hahaha Have good one, Mazzy!

Hi Mazzy. I have always struggled getting into Dylan. That said I have most of his works on CD. I look at the historical importance of music and Dylan was extremely important so I have bought and listened to his music even if he is not a favorite artists. How’s that for geeky. I do own most of the bootleg material. I find it again Interesting from a historical perspective to listen how an artist change. Maybe I should be a music historian? Thanks for showing your Dylan. Steve

I get what you are saying about Dylan and know other people who feel the same. I can’t describe why I love his music so much. It stands out in a totally different category to me. Unique and like a writer whose books take more time to get into. Sometimes it hits you and sometimes it doesn’t. I even love Triplicate and his crooner albums from this decade. Beautifully recorded but many of my friends just don’t get it. And i understand

I love all of Dylan's material except the last decade. His vocals are completely gone. He sounds like speaker with a hole in it. I'm glad we have the bootleg series so we can get fresh material that doesn't have sadness attatched to it.
