@georgecoventry84413 жыл бұрын
@@williammeek765 The Rod Stewart ripoff of "Forever Young" is not the same song by any means, but is clearly an intentional (though sloppy and vague) semi-copy of the Dylan song...though it sounds like the four (four of them!) "writers" credited with it simply took a bunch of separate lines out of the Dylan song, threw them in a bowl to mix them up some, put them back together randomly, and then added a few more lines of their own, changed the tune and arrangement, and pretended it was a whole new song. No original thought was involved there, that's for sure. It is a reasonably good pop tune, but they should not have done that.

Did you ever check out his artwork and see how good he is that also. H is paintings of Americana are phenomenal. He also does welding sculptures. Such an amazing all around talent. Stands by himself.

I have vivid memories of 11/22/63 at 10:30 am, 'President Kennedy has been shot in Dallas', a radio bulletin I heard at school. Quick story about this song. I was a member of the Executive Board of our union as was Lenny Drinkard from the Ceveland office. We both had sons about the same time in 1992. I was also the editor of the union newsletter. The newsletter was published quarterly and went to everyone from the Secretary of Labor on down. It was not easy to get people to contribute so I put in a lot of the things that interested me. I did an update to the union membership and started with this ( I kept a few copies of every issue but they are in some unopened box from our last move) I'll paraphrase. We have two new member of the union and I listed the names and dates of birth. I wish them what i wish for all our children and then posted the words to this song. It was one of the few issues that did not draw hate mail from anyone

Peter Yianilos. Yes, F is a special place for many composers. Personal, introspective, maybe the deepest.

Cool. Bob’s feeling pretty good; and 25 years later he’s still with us.

There will never be a poet, philosopher, musician for 1000 years like Dylan. I heard him 1st when I was 14. I am over 60 now and have heard a lot, I mean a lot of artists and performers. Well deserved Noble.

Bob is the best singer of all noble price winners! :) He and John Lennon are, in my opinion, the most influential artists in mankind. This is not a great art for elites, but for everyone. It is art that has changed the world, that has transported a new spirit and that will retain its meaning - far beyond the death of its creators.

I wrote all of the lyrics to this song inside my grandsons first birthday card. 'Keep on keeping on...' Bob.
