@@williammeek765 The Rod Stewart ripoff of "Forever Young" is not the same song by any means, but is clearly an intentional (though sloppy and vague) semi-copy of the Dylan song...though it sounds like the four (four of them!) "writers" credited with it simply took a bunch of separate lines out of the Dylan song, threw them in a bowl to mix them up some, put them back together randomly, and then added a few more lines of their own, changed the tune and arrangement, and pretended it was a whole new song. No original thought was involved there, that's for sure. It is a reasonably good pop tune, but they should not have done that.

I've also been a fan since 1963 when I was a junior in high school and my friend Naomi lent me his first two albums with a death treat if I didn't return them lol. I listened to them for 2 weeks every day before I returned them. Talk about mind expansion with his words. Never heard anything like that before. Did you ever check out his artwork and see how good he is that also. H is paintings of Americana are phenomenal. He also does welding sculptures. Such an amazing all around talent. Stands by himself.

We already have long bread lines and major shortages.I agree with you Br, but even if they print money, we'll still be in a depression. Under comments about deceased people. Classic Bob. He probably also uses email to advertise "unique business opportunities". How does Dylan make a living and not work in an office all day? This may be Dylan at his best - Grammys, Nobel Prize, an artist, an Oscar and more. He shall be known as the Shakespeare whose beautiful art spanned two centuries. I have vivid memories of 11/22/63 at 10:30 am, 'President Kennedy has been shot in Dallas', a radio bulletin I heard at school. This tender & soulful five decade musical journey teaches all who value the written word and the notes on a page of how Mr. Tambourine Man has touched the hearts of the world. Thank you Bob. 🙏🏻 🎹 🎨

When I found the art book with these lyrics, I bought two copies, one for each of my two great-grand-nephews born that year. Don't know if their parents thought I was wifty, but what the heck, I find the words to be some of the most poignant philosophical statements I've encountered. I was over the moon when he received the Nobel prize for literature. Well deserved in my opinion. If it's of interest, I'm 85 years old.

Quick story about this song. I was a member of the Executive Board of our union as was Lenny Drinkard from the Ceveland office. We both had sons about the same time in 1992. I was also the editor of the union newsletter. The newsletter was published quarterly and went to everyone from the Secretary of Labor on down. It was not easy to get people to contribute so I put in a lot of the things that interested me. I did an update to the union membership and started with this ( I kept a few copies of every issue but they are in some unopened box from our last move) I'll paraphrase. We have two new member of the union and I listed the names and dates of birth. I wish them what i wish for all our children and then posted the words to this song. It was one of the few issues that did not draw hate mail from anyone

Me too! Summer of 1972. I was 14. I heard some of his classics here and there before that time and was affected even then. Bangladesh is what kick started it. Soundtrack of my life.

A pure gift for the Universe. Musician, lyricist, poet, philosopher, painter, metal sculptor and inspiration for mankind. To be alive during his reign and witness the treasures he creates breathing the same air as the rest of us... AMAZING... May he stay forever...

In 1968, my life changed radically by buying a guitar and admiring only Bob Dylan in my spare time and listening to his songs. His voice fascinated me and I practiced every day with my first guitar "Blowing in the Wind". More than 50 years later, I'm still thrilled, his voice is unique and so is his songs, just as his personality. I take my hat off. Thank you very much.

There will never be a poet, philosopher, musician for 1000 years like Dylan. I heard him 1st when I was 14. I am over 60 now and have heard a lot, I mean a lot of artists and performers. Well deserved Noble.

Bob is the best singer of all noble price winners! :) He and John Lennon are, in my opinion, the most influential artists in mankind. This is not a great art for elites, but for everyone. It is art that has changed the world, that has transported a new spirit and that will retain its meaning - far beyond the death of its creators.
