He says a lot in about three minutes .. Not without reason he won the Nobel Prize in literature. Of course, in Dylan's spirit, he did not show up for the award ceremony. But he gave his speech as everyone must to get the award and medal and diploma a few months later on video. 😀

Hey there! Just subscribed...(I saw your cat and I was hooked.) 😊A few of my favorite Dylan tunes to add to your growing list: It Ain't Me, Babe...Positively 4th Street...Mr. Tambourine Man... &...Hurricane (which actually helped to free a wrongly convicted man from prison after nearly 20 years.) I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Songs of my life...I was about 7 or 8 years old when I first heard Dylan in 1963 or '64...he changed my life and my perspective. 😉👍

He's an incredible song writer. He wrote so many good songs, all with a message. Because this was such a pivotal song for it's time, I'll go an 8.7

Dylan's voice was hugely influenced by US folk singer Woody Guthrie. At the time of this song he was pretty much a solo artist, so there's only him on this singing, playing guitar and harmonica. No overdubs, all done live. I'd recommend "I Shall Be Released", "Tangled Up in Blue", or "Blowin' in the Wind" next.

So right most of his albums were done as a live set, plus songs done in 1 or 2 takes no rehearsals Dylan love the spontaneity, as Bob Johnson said instead of God touching him on the shoulder god kicked Dylan in the ass

Just discovered your channel, another great reaction! So awesome of you to pick up on Dylan's incredible intonation and timing. He's possibly the greatest and most important american songwriter of all time. Check out 'masters of war' next if you want more - it's such a powerful song!

Yet another classic from one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, who was also dealing with societally important issues in his songs - I'm at 9.0. P.S. Asuna is really cute.

He's a poet with a message for all of us. The last lines were directed towards America's youth. In other words do your part as the rest of us are passing on.

kittens will be kittens - I love the cat - it adds to the experience. Speaking as someone who grew up with this sort of music - I think we need this today - I'm all for modern styles and all, but the content - the old protest songs need to be dusted off and brought up to date. This song was an anthem during the civil rights movement in the US and the Vietnam war. Although both of those were primarily American issues, the underlying causes were felt world wide and the song was seen, in the day, as a call to end racism and war. BTW: Dylan was often referred to as having a voice "that came from you and me" - personally I never was sure if that was meant to say that his words were the words of the common people or if it was meant to suggest that his voice didn't have a refined music industry sound. Oh, and he generally played guitar and harmonica so a lot of his work was just him without backup at all, though I can't say if that was also true in his studio recordings.

I see myself reacting to Bob 55+ years ago. Good on you. It's encouraging to see young people discovering Bob and grasping the meaning and understanding the continuing relevance of his poetry. Though many think of his style as early rap it is more what was called "spoken word" poetry long ago when I was young :-) It came out of the 50s Beatnik culture. May I suggest you dive deeper and listen to Masters of War, Desolation Row, Subterranean Homesick Blues, and more. For another poet master wordsmith of similar style and skill level check out Gil-Scott Heron. The Bottle, Gun, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, etc. The Bloods I hung out with in the Corps in the 60s turned me on to Gil and I turned them on to Bob. Fair Exchange.

This song is unbelievably timeless. And I have a potentially rude question but are both of you guys ladies? Only love but I don’t know for sure if amber is a trans lady or not. Hope that’s not rude :) but the come mother and father’s throughout the land, don’t criticize what you can’t understand line to me in this day and are really speaks to transgender acceptance since trans people are less afraid of being murdered for coming out now than they have been in the past. Which is terrible and great at the same time I suppose
