i got my first Dylan album when i was 14 too, it was Freewheelin and it was 1963. Street Legal is in my top 5 favorite Dylan albums out of all of them, if i had to choose..

When I was 14 I borrowed a tape from my sister’s boyfriend (now husband of 35yrs). It was the Rolling Stones Let it Bleed. I was familiar with all the songs and really liked it. But when it finished I flipped it over. It was Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits (vol 1). I was blown away. Probably listened to that 100 times. Saved up and bought as many Dylan albums as I could. To this day I have everything he has every produced (even the Xmas). This song always held a special place for me. Thanks for this version!

I had a shirt just like that when I was fifteen. Mine was more bright red. My dad said his shirt manufacturing father had thrown away better. I looked groovy I thought at the local roller skating

Street Legal is raw. This album preceded Bob's conversion to Christianity. It's an album about loss, confusion, abuse, and wandering. This song is about Sara, Bob's ex-wife. Just my opinions. Thanks everyone. Thank you Bob!
