Just so fitting that an Angela gets off on Bob James' Angela. You have a beautiful name-sake tune to call your own.....

This always makes me sad as I think Taxi was broadcast in the Uk on a Monday evening and I could never watch the end as I had a keyboard lesson at 8pm . I always went off with this now iconic piece reverberating in my head. Teacher would scold me as she catch me playing this when she was tuned into the other pupil. Also the great opening credit scenes of the taxi making its way around 70s NYC are nostalgic. Great prog and player. PS 45 years later still playing keys and love

When the real world becomes a little too ugly, a listen to Angela will remind you there is beauty left. I dont care if I seem melodramatic with that comment whatsoever.

Everytime I listen to this song it makes me cry. It was played at my cousin Angela's funeral it was her fav song as she was also a big fan of the show.

Oh my goodness such a good music Angela is, always brings me back years ago in my family home in Malaysia, laying on my back infront of telly as an 8yo at 10pm watching Taxi
@speakertreatz6 жыл бұрын
it must have been the same the world over my friend. I would have been watching it as an 8 year old at 10pm in Dublin, Ireland
@rinsedpie6 жыл бұрын
very peaceful music isnt it? in a bright calm sunny day, Angela is so calming and brings you to an era where all mistakes are childhood mistakes only
@speakertreatz6 жыл бұрын
definitely, brings me straight back to some safe childhood place the minute I hear the intro. And the same for so many people.

Is this laid back or is this laid back. What a wonderful ear for a beautiful melody Bob James has always had. Wonderful and his very own “Angela” is timeless.

So much do I enjoy his music all these years after I first heard him at the piano amazing a crowd in our HS library making wonderful improvised music at age 8 in our hometown of Marshall MO. I was lucky to grow up there and though a small town it has a Philharmonic Orchestra and a slogan of "Marshall is Music".

One can note that Mr. James has sheet music in front of him. What an excellent group of musicians; outstanding guitarists, the quiet and understated drumming, and the piano style only Mr. James can play in this lovely song.

Enfin !
