THAT TRACK ENDED UP BEING RELEASED ON THE CONFRONTATION ALBUM AS "CHANT DOWN BABYLON". BOB KEPT THE MUSIC AND THE CHORUS AS IS, BUT CHANGED MOST OF THE MAIN VERSES. BOB WAS PROBABLY ON HIS HEIGHTS AND FREESTYLING WHAT HE WAS FEELING AT THE TIME...BUT YEAH, THE TRACK WAS RECORDED OVER FOR THE ALBUM. THE "COMING IN FROM THE COLD" ALBUM WAS RUMORED TO HAVE BEEN INTENDED TO BE RELEASED AS A DOUBLE L.P. BUT THE BAND DECIDED TO LIMIT THE SONGS TO ONE ALBUM. THE REST OF THE TRACKS LEFT OVER ENDED UP ON "CONFRONTATION" IN 1983 AFTER BOB'S PASSING. THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE TRACKS. BLESS-UP. ✌️

This is simply another version of the demo for "Chant Down Babylon," which appears on the Confrontation album, however, the sound is awesome, and I like the positive turn, instead of "Come we go burn down Babylon" as well as the raw sound and mellifluousness of Bob's voice is great.

Marley wanted to redo Chant Down Babylon, which subsequently appeared on the posthumous Confrontation which was released in 1983. His voice is clearly strained and failing to hit the high notes. Still, give thanks and praises. This version if it was polished enough is more bluesy and rock leaning.

"Come we go up a Jerusalem" refers to the Jews/Israelites deported in slavery in Babylon by Nebuchanezzar in the 7th Century BC. When those Israelites made it back to Palestine a century later, they did what the Bible calls the EXODUS. When Bob is singing "Come we go up a Jerusalem ONE MORE TIME" it means that his people, the Israelites, made it out of slavery and to Jerusalem before. So now his people, bound in slavery again, will go to Jerusalem ONE MORE TIME. Only Jerusalem is in Ethiopia.

however, slavery refers to being slaves to the ego. egypt had everything they could ever want, and this was what they were slaves to. jerusalem represents the place where we will all reunite again. the torah is a description of the development of the ego, and it's correction. separation and connection with the one governing force in all of reality. each person will go through the exact states described in the torah. the language is something we lost contact with, but will rediscover it.
