A prophet and a poet... he's like John Lennon or Jonny cash.... absolutely essential music

Funny how when I was younger, Bob Marley was the weed guy. While I listened to his music and got high, I didn’t really hear the message. After going through my own struggles and making sacrifices and watching the new market movie I’ve dove into Bob Marley not for the weed but the message and the love he spreads even after his death!

You can nearly feel some of the pain he was actually feeling at that moment. He was already declared seriously ill. He died 11 months after releasing his last album with the Wailers. Huge singer but also an exceptional human being who might have helped this world.

Correction: who has helped the world. Say Bob Marley in every country, and there's a version of him everywhere. He went to America, and they shunned him. Then he went to Dogmatic Europe, and they gladly accepted him.

I was 12 years old, home alone about 1990 and fell asleep in front of the TV watching SNL. I woke up sometime after 2am and this was playing on the TV, for some reason. I knew who he was, but I was a metalhead and only vaguely familiar with his music. I sat and watched it to the end in awe, completely moved, and then an infomercial came on, so I went to bed. The moment stuck with me all these years, and all I can figure is that some overnight master control operator had a couple minutes to slip something in and had some fun. Thank you, whoever you were.

Old pirates, yes, they rob I; Sold I to the merchant ships, Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit. But my hand was made strong By the ‘and of the Almighty. We forward in this generation Triumphantly. Won’t you help to sing These songs of freedom? ‘Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs. Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds. Have no fear for atomic energy, ‘Cause none of them can stop the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Ooh! Some say it’s just a part of it: We’ve got to fulfil de book. @@subashsanthi7668 it’s a classical guitar restrung with steel strings. Marley said it’s what inspired him to write many of his songs.

does he play in Eb tuning?
@Joe-jv7ol6 ай бұрын
He plays a half step up from standard e tuning, chords are G C G Dmajor7 G, at some of the other parts he goes E minor, C major, and Dmajor 7. The last few are higher up on the three high strings, an inversion of e minor C major and d major7. Hope this helped, happy new years g

Can anyone tell me the chords he is playing? Particularly at the end.
@Joe-jv7ol6 ай бұрын
He's playing G major, C major, and Dmajor 7 mostly (a half step up from standard tuning so capo on 1st fret or tune up the half step). In a later part of the song where he switches to minor it's e minor, c major and d major7. The ending chords are an inversion of the e minor c major d major 7 but on the three high strings, so treating the capo as open position on g string 4th fret, b string 5th fret, and e string 3rd fret, then the next chord is 5-5-3, then move that new shape up two half steps. Hope this helped, happy new years, play a lot of guitar this year man
