The lyrics and the art compliment each other through 2 entangled feelings; to desire and to be free. The guy in the video eventually hits the water (a red color that matches his body color) to break free into a different form of himself (possibly a “free” version of him), but the girl’s blue colored body is shattered like a glass instead (a symbol of rigid but brittle feeling), and the pain in all this is seen through a blood 🩸 stain on a piece of the broken glass - the great cost of breaking free from someone you can’t be with anymore. The red is the vulnerable color, the blue is the resilient color, like a meteor that comes down from the sky - as seen at the beginning of the video when the girl falls through the clouds with her face first (while the guy is falling on his back).
@Its_Renee_3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this detailed explanation because honestly I could never figure out exactly what was happening. I was thinking he was an angel falling from heaven coming back for her, but she's destined for another place.....it made me cry and overthink too much!! Thanks again 🙌! 🙋♀️🙏

the girl at the beggining of the video is red because she holds the energy that keeps her alive, however the guy is blue because he doesn't have that energy. Later on the girl shares the energy with him, which he has to use to keep them both alive. They at one point fail to share it with each other, but slowly as they keep falling they realise that either it's sharing the energy for both of them to be alive, or neither of them stays alive.🫀

In the beautiful video the two lovers have to break apart because their love is impossible to continue without one of them "dying". The relationship can't go on... So they just have to accept it and let it go. It's a hard choice to make and an even harder one to stick to, but it's what you have to do... And at the end of your journey together, you both separate and continue your stories in different worlds.

I have been listening to this song and video since this Summer and I have come to realize that together they equate to a masterpiece. Whether I'm listening to the song with or without the video, it's main themes flash in my head, surely helped by the two pulsing colors on black. I have tried to convey these ideas in my own art but here they are exposed as if we are peering into the couple's dreams or subconscious, undetected. It's a heartbreaking situation I'm sure many have experienced in their own unique way. Personally it is of a tragic lost love to the rapids of addiction. But there is still that person there who us worth loving, but the chaos and chains evoked by their behavior are too much to embrace. Thank you so much for this.
