Bob, Semper Fi, brother. I agree PTSD came in many forms. I was there in 71-72 at M.C.A.S Rose Gard, RTAFB Nam Phong, Thailand. I lost my dear new born daughter to a perjuring wife in court. Felt betrayed and crushed emotionally but swallowed the pain for years.

Semper Fi Bob, seems like yesterday and yet long ago (63-67). We will never "readjust", especially we Jarheads. We can become that new self that will always be faithful to those we remember every day. Welcome home Marines.

WELCOME HOME & HAPPY 248th BIRTHDAY MARINES! GOD BLESS THE CORPS, OORAH!
@jamesrice609611 ай бұрын
To be honest, I have no combat time and was blessed with 22+ years in the Corps as an airwinger. My friends who were combat Marines suffer from the things that come after you get out. There is the trauma you spoke about with broken families and ex wives, immersion in civilian society where a basic level of integrity can't be expected, no common goals, selfishness, lack of trust, etc. These things are what I can talk and help them with, being that combat is something I will never fully grasp, and know it. The transition is, for some, as brutal emotionally as other things they experienced. Good on you for your program. It's something that's long overdue. Semper Fi. You look great for 248.

Desert Storm Marine, Sgt. I remember returning to the States, we landed in Maine, off loaded to refuel & we were meet & I will never ever forget they looked at the older men Sgt majors, 1st Sgt, Col. & asked if they had served in Vietnam & WELCOMED THEM HOME. I make it a point to when I see an older Veteran, I inquire & if they were there, I welcome them HOME. SEMPER FI to all our Brothers HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Bob, I hope you see this. I served in the Air Force during the Cold War as a B-52 gunner as my first job in the Air Force. After they got rid of my job, I went to security police. I served in the gulf war and then after getting out of the Air Force in 1993, became a firefighter for 25 years until I was retired with stage four triple hit lymphoma. I’ve beat cancer, but during that time, my ex-wife gave me divorce papers and has alienated me for my children in Scottsdale. I haven’t seen them since 2021. I struggle every day still no matter how much therapy I’ve had with survivors guilt from combat, and also being a firefighter and surviving cancer. I thank God every day for my therapist. I’ve had EMDR, hypnosis therapy, and NET, which is called Nuro emotional therapy. Like you, I am home after 34 years. Thank you for this video. God bless you and your family and since normally up in the mountains above you, I hope someday and Scottsdale to meet you shake your hand play golf with you and hopefully by you a beer.
