Sorry for replying so late. Lol. It's oil paint. Most likely at this time his old brand. There is no additives to speed drying or anything. Just oil paint.

I may be wrong but I think they still want to make money selling DVDs so the quality of these youtube videos will never be that great, and obviously some worse than others. The fact remains though that for 30 years, people didn't have access to Bob Ross like we do today, so honestly I'm not sure any sort of complaint is valid here.

+EmpyreanLightASMR previous 10 seasons were very decent quality (as for a 80s vhs rip). so the dvds are not the issue IMO. also they receive money from running ads on these i think. the reason i commented is asking them to do the same job they did on prev 10 seasons. season 11 episode 1 and 2 are just videos they had on this channel previously in bad quality and hid about a year ago when they started to upload all the good quality ones from the very start of season 1. why they unearthed these instead of just re-ripping season 11 like all the other seasons ? yeah. these are better than nothing and i shouldn't complain but why?

***** Well I don't really know how many of the previous episodes were actually re-rips. I'd watched a lot of them a year or even two years ago (I see my old comments). I just think they do the best with what they have, tbh. In other words, I *don't* think they're degrading these videos on purpose. Just some of these eps have lower quality. What I'm excited for are the even newer eps, maybe those will be great quality? We'll see!
