August 2021: I used to watch these with my momma who, in 1985 or so, began painting. She saw a video of him & began buying his supplies. Through the years she painted many many paintings & her Bob Ross supplies were divided among those who also painted after she passed January 2020. I have several of her paintings and of the remaining paintings, I gave her 5 sisters two paintings each. This isn't all of them because she has given and sold many over the years. I will forever treasure these memories of hers. Bob Ross was definitely her inspiration!

@Maazzzo8 жыл бұрын
Andre *sigh* there's really no need for this conversation, is there? There's no need for this. This annoys me more than the people who tell me 'God bless.' Your first assumption is wrong. They're not generally older people. I don't mind that they're being polite, I just don't share their beliefs. Finally, maybe most people are believers where you are, but definitely not in my crowd. I don't care if they believe, good for them. I'm not trying to stop anyone from believing, I just get mildly annoyed having people say that to me when I'm not a believer. And it doesn't matter if you don't see why it annoys you. I'm not speaking for all atheists everywhere, am I? I'm speaking for me. There was really no need to turn an off-hand comment into a discussion. I don't resent people who have beliefs, good for them. I just don't like the assumption on the part of others that I share in those beliefs when someone says 'God Bless.' Have a good day.

Bob Ross is incredible and thankfully someone took the time to upload his content but Bob isn't a KZbinr. He started The Joy of Painting in 1983 and it went until 1994; he passed shortly thereafter from, I do believe, a heart attack between 94' - 95'. Despite his popularity after 11 yrs on PBS, he was actually hitting the big time just as he passed. Little fun fact, he didn't get paid once for this show. Instead he sold a few of the paintings (donated most of them) and primarily made his funds from art classes, selling Bon Ross supplies and his military pension. After spending half of his life in the military(20 yrs.), Air Force, working his way to, I think, a Master Sgt. or SSgt., he vowed to never raise his voice again. He absolutely hated yelling at the recruits, it stressed him out. I'm glad you've discovered him, he's an incredible person to watch. And I couldn't agree more, we need more content and ppl like him on KZbin. :)
