Hi Annika - welcome aboard my little art channel. I'm delighted to read your comments and to learn that you've taken up oil painting. Like most new hobbies there is a learning curve to start with and things might not make sense. So watch some of my 'Anyone Can Paint' videos to get some early success. So important when your starting out. I also have some play lists about the paints, brushes and canvases that will help you get set up and save a few $$ too. So for now happy watching - New video every Sunday 6.00pm UK time - Paul 😃😍😎

Your voice is so relaxing and makes me want to paint more! One question: I never used oils, always acrylic paint. Is it possible to do this with acrylic? I have painted auroras before with acrylics but this is definitely better. Thank you
@PaulRansonArt Жыл бұрын
Hi Simona - this particular painting needs the blendable oils to work well. But, have you herd of Atilier Acrylics? Its an Australian made acrylic that can be 'unlocked' with a release spray and blended. Even if its dry a little fine mist can unlock the paint for more blending. Hope this helps - have a lovely week - Paul 😍😎

Absolutely love this!!!!! Where did you get the paints from I’ve been looking for them exact ones for ages????
@PaulRansonArt4 күн бұрын
Hi Isla - I've been a Bob Ross certified instructor here in the UK for the past 20+ years. You don't need the exact same brand of colours and other oils will work well too. The one thing you will need is t paint this wet on wet style. That is using a clear medium to wet the canvas with a tiny amount of oil like Bob Ross Liquid clear. But you can use a tiny amount of Linseed oil instead. Have fun - Paul 😃
@islablackwood62634 күн бұрын
omg your a gem! Thank you so much… so the blue, red, green and white paint oil paints or acrylic?
@PaulRansonArt2 күн бұрын
@@islablackwood6263 - yes its oils Isla - I've seen others do this in acrylics so it is possible. But for me oils is the best. Nice slow drying and plenty of play time - mmmm 😃😃🥰🥰

Thank you very much. I was wondering what oil you put in the beginning?
@PaulRansonArt2 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. If I'm using a black canvas ( thats a dry acrylic or gesso canvas ) - I invariably use a clear oil like Bob Ross Liquid Clear or at a pinch linseed oil. Very thinly applied so the canvas is just wet - most important you don't use too much - Paul 😃

Is this a black canvas with just clear coat?
@PaulRansonArt25 күн бұрын
Thats right Haley. The black is acrylic thats completely dry. All the other colours are oils inclusing a clear oil. You can use Lindseed oil for this step. - Paul 😃

Hi..can any of these methods be used with acrylics? Thanku 😊
@PaulRansonArt3 ай бұрын
Hi Karen, I've seen other YT videos where they have used acrylics so the answer is yes. I've used both but you'll need a way to slow down the drying time of the acrylic paint. Use a retarder which will give you a few minuets working time. Hope this helps 😃

I hope you realise that all the comments on this video are actually directed at another video of someone teaching painting. That's a bit weird. Never seen that before. However, I really don't like this bit on this animal. I don't think he's comfortable with it at all. I don't like the way you're pinching his mouth with it either. If he's just arrived and you haven't really trained him, then I think you should have waited until he was more settled and also learned English for a start. He's been talked to in Spanish so he wouldn't understand any English cues. You're pulling him around by his mouth far too much. No wonder his mouth is open all the time to avoid discomfort. That you continued to film while he was in so much discomfort really was not a credit to you. Especially as the filming must have taken a lot longer than the 20 mins it ended up as being. Also, you surely realise that in Spain they have very harsh methods of training horses which no doubt includes mules and they don't treat them well. That is maybe why he is sensitive to touch because he's had harsh handling. I'd suggest using positive reinforcement techniques to make this poor boy less stressed. The saddle looks too far forward and is interfering with his shoulders. It needs to be further back to avoid his shoulder movement.

Hi Trainer girl - now that is odd! I don't see your comment if I look at my video from my content screen or if I search for it. I only see it if I hit the reply tab under your comment which takes me to the video and your comment shows up. Clearly there's a glitch as your comment relates to a completely different video. Have you been able to post this to the correct video? If not you might want to cut and paste this and repost it. Best wishes with you canine chums 😎😎
