That was a nice compliment, Jan and it's wonderful to know that I have inspired you to use oil paint again. I think you just can't beat oil paint for blending colors. As I mentioned to you just a little bit ago, I am excited to maybe try using the water mixable oil paint on card stock. I think this painting would be pretty nice on that. Happy New Year to you, dear.

Hi there Yovette, just to say that I finished this magical painting and I am really pleased with my result.. I struggled with the 1" brush for painting the big trees in the foreground so had to use my fan brush instead. I generally struggle with pine trees anyways and even though I practice, I just cannot get the right shape. Your tutorials are so enjoyable and easy to follow so any tips on improving the pine trees would be really appreciated.😀
@PaintingWithYovette11 ай бұрын
How exciting to finish the Cabin painting Alice! A lot of people use the fan brush instead of the 1" brush for the trees and that is totally fine. Even I like the fan better. I do have a lot of tutorials on my channel for doing trees. Perhaps one of those could help you more. Here is the link. 🌹 kzbin.info/aero/PLhGho3cOJqurcWXEgyqVwD4xv03t_cjlv

Happy New Year! I don't always comment, but I love your paintings! I want to start using more water mixable oil paints. What kind of medium do you use? Where is the best place to buy water based oils and what brand do you use?
@PaintingWithYovette Жыл бұрын
Well, I am glad you made the comment, Verda. And I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying my tutorials. I love using water mixable oil paint. The mediums that I purchase are also water mixable. I use Winsor & Newton WMO linseed oil, and I use WMO thinner. I have purchased from Michael's craft store, and I also purchased from Amazon Both are good places. Best of luck to you, and I hope you love painting with water mixable oils.

Yes, it will work just fine Alice. Maybe leave off a few of the side trees to make it square, but it should work beautifully. It would be like cropping off a little on each side. Have fun with creating it.

@PaintingWithYovette10 ай бұрын
Yes Vicki, you can do this painting with WMOs. You can actually do any of my videos with WMO paint because it is just simply paint, only you can clean with soap and water. You can also do any of my WMO paintings with regular paint. Both will work. 🌺

Are you still using the water mixable oils.
@PaintingWithYovette Жыл бұрын
I do still use water mixable oils Ed. (But not for this particular painting). I have so much old Bob Ross paint that I am trying to use up. When I do my cleanup, however, I am only using soap and water. I never use chemicals any longer. I have already done enough damage to my lungs. Still, I have to say that my favorite paints are water mixable oils, and I will be back to teaching them. Thank you for that great question.
