If only WCW didnt close, Bob wouldve been able to become a star in his native land and he definitively would be remembered in a different light nowdays...

I don't understand why we're not talking about Bob Sapp all the time. His life is astounding

I wish there was a timeline where bob sapp was genuinely trained because that could be one of the best big men of all time

Great video! I have to admit, I did not think Bob Sapp was good, but after learning more about him, I appreciate and respect his work. He reminds me of Sid Vicious (wrestler not the musician). What he lacked in technical wrestling, he made up with power and pure charisma. His promos are fantastic. I love Sid. And I love Giant Bernard and I agree! He is criminally underappreciated and his work in Japan is great.

Sid is a great comparison. I think as Blair said, people get this attitude that only wrestlers who fit the super worker mold of a Danielson, Mox, or Omega should be allowed exist, but we need these car crash wrestlers because they remind us what fun is. I know the "wrestling is a variety show" thing is overplayed, but if a weekly wrestling show was like 10% Bob Sapp adjacent workers, I could live with that.

You are preaching to the choir here my man! Bob Sapp just has the intangible raw, sheer charisma that IS pro wrestling. Who cares if he can't work for shit? He's got the physical presence of Brock Lesnar, except he's here to have a goofy ass pro wrestling match. Also, he is a very large gentleman. As a deeply cultured and well-versed professional wrestling connoisseur there is nothing I enjoy more than witnessing a large gentlemen being picked up and slammed, well that and Stan Hansen lariating someone out of their shoes. Another great video on a great topic.

Freakshows draw. I've watched way too many Akebono matches just cause I wanted to see what would happen when he wrestles a legend like Kawada, or a powerhouse like Sekimoto. The answer, everytime, is that he just kinda stands there taking chops while he sweats buckets.
