Sapp never wanted to fight to start with. He was going broke. People around him talked him into it. Told him with his size & power he had a real chance at winning. So, he enter a K1 tournament and won. Later in his career he started taking dives for easy money. His under the table deal was that he'll agree to give it all he's got for 60 seconds and then he's going down.

And Cro Cop back then was a savage sure he had some losses but look fighters have injuries and sometimes they don’t show up at 100% cro cop not the guy who’s going to pull out of a fight but if he shows up ready your fucked.

Ernesto Hoost was not in his prime almost 40 years old. There were only 2 weight classes at K-1. He also had big troubles against Semmy Schilt later on, who was not as powerfull as Sapp but a high skilled kickboxer. If he might landed one kick to the liver instead of low kicks it would've been over pretty soon. But that's easy to say. I mean even if you are Mr. Perfect, hitting someone with a low kick who's thighs are much bigger than yours is kind of useless.
