Sapp never wanted to fight to start with. He was going broke. People around him talked him into it. Told him with his size & power he had a real chance at winning. So, he enter a K1 tournament and won. Later in his career he started taking dives for easy money. Ernesto Hoost was not in his prime almost 40 years old. There were only 2 weight classes at K-1. He also had big troubles against Semmy Schilt later on, who was not as powerfull as Sapp but a high skilled kickboxer. If he might landed one kick to the liver instead of low kicks it would've been over pretty soon. But that's easy to say. I mean even if you are Mr. Perfect, hitting someone with a low kick who's thighs are much bigger than yours is kind of useless.
