I am 79 years old but once in my life I was a young U.S. Army infantry soldier deep in the jungles of the center highlands in Vietnam 68/69. The guys I served with along with myself were once like a rock. Hundred pond rucksacks aka backpack. They were so heavy that we would pack them full and lay back down on the backpack. Put are arms in each shoulder harness and then roll over on our stomachs then up on your knees and then standup. We were all rocks, and I am so proud I served with a bunch of guys who became brothers for life.

We mourn the passage of time. The loss of our strength as we age. What then does this teach us? The preciousness of life. The gift of endless promise that we alone control. The breath in your lungs, the sun on your skin standing straight against the wind for which no price can be paid. Savor it. Live it. Keep it. For when its gone........... God Bless Bob Seger and the preciousness of life.

Fellow Southerner here. Lucky you to see him live!!! My ex (much older than I) actually met Bob a long time ago. We live in the area where he recorded in the early days of his career. I've met many of the musicians who played on one or more of his hit albums (aka the Swampers, despite the SBB getting credit on the sleeve). Look up the movie MUSCLE SHOALS if you're interested. Thanks for the vid! 🤘🏼🎸

Like A Rock Bob Seger Album: Greatest Hits Stood there boldly Sweatin' in the sun Felt like a million Felt like number one The height of summer I'd never felt that strong Like a rock I was eighteen Didn't have a care Working for peanuts Not a dime to spare But I was lean and Solid everywhere Like a rock My hands were steady My eyes were clear and bright My walk had purpose My steps were quick and light And I held firmly To what I felt was right Like a rock Like a rock, I was strong as I could be Like a rock, nothin' ever got to me Like a rock, I was something to see Like a rock And I stood arrow straight Unencumbered by the weight Of all these hustlers and their schemes I stood proud, I stood tall High above it all I still believed in my dreams Twenty years now Where'd they go? Twenty years I don't know Sit and I wonder sometimes Where they've gone And sometimes late at night When I'm bathed in the firelight The moon comes callin' a ghostly white And I recall I recall Like a rock. standin' arrow straight Like a rock, chargin' from the gate Like a rock, carryin' the weight Like a rock Like a rock, the sun upon my skin Like a rock, hard against the wind Like a rock, I see myself again Like a rock Writer(s): Bob Seger ℗ 1986 Hideout Records & Distributors, Inc., under exclusive license to Capitol Records

Saw Bob when I was a junior in high school. Year after live bullet was released. The now imploded Pontiac Silverdome. Sold out. That place held like 80,000 people for football games so they probably didn’t sell the.seats behind the stage so still…what’s that, like 65,000 people? The atmosphere was unreal. Home town crowd for Bob and the Silver Bullet Band. Been hooked ever since. Now I’m 60 and he’s still the best.
