I was 18 years old and a senior in high and jyst 25 miles from where this fight took place. Thunder Bob was my idol! His name will go down in history!

Thanks for the video. This was a fantastic battle. Been looking for Thurman's fight with John Moncayo for awhile too, but can't seem to find it. Appreciate the upload - history definitely doesn't give these sorts of fighters the credit they deserve.

@@KickboxingVideos The PKA at one time was my life. Did some training with the great Paul Vizzio at his place in NJ. At the time he was getting ready for Yoel Judah, a newcomer who was wrecking some good fighters. Well Vizzio made it look easy.

I saw Bob fight in KCKS. He was a bit older I think than here. It was the only time I saw a fighter in obvious fear. The fight started with Bob being somewhat flat l, like he wasn’t there. His opponent landed his best shot and a flurry. It was the proverbial wakening of the beast. I knew it and it was very apparent to his opponent too. He actually had a look of fear on his his face and he started evading. Bob cut off the ring trapped him on the ropes and worked him over before finishing him. It was like I was feeling his fear too.

Great fight. Always thought Alvin was more of a point fighter, but he def brought accuracy from that into full contact. He did alot better than I expected against Bob, because Bob has such a tremendous work rate as seen here. I though Bobs 'right down the middle' front kick would determine this, but I was wrong, and it wasn't used alot by him here, maybe Prouders body angle alot of the time? Bob def deserved this one, and its testimony to Prouder as a contact fighter that he didnt cave in after that third round, and testimony to Bobs power, skill and determination that he won!

Hey Rick!!! I do remember Jerry Clarke. I think he was one of the first Full Contact Karate fighters I saw on television!!! I can't remember if I saw Jerry Clarke first or Benny Urquidez.
