When he appeared for the first time with his painted armor I was soooo happy. The way he walks how the Slave 1’s ramp like he just landed on a planet he owns. Temuera is going to nail the Book of Boba Fett.

I've been planning to do this with Bandai's 1990-ish Patlabor models. They came with rubber "underwear" that was super thick... so not only did the SUPER-THIN joints inside the rubber BREAK from the rubber being too stiff, requiring you to unsheath it all (!!!), the rubber underwear ALSO reacted with the plastic, MELTING the joints inside over time!!! So yeah, Cloth.

Great work on this project! I love all the details you added to really sell this diorama. You know, a while back I wanted this Boba Fett kit in order to convert it to a Mandalorian figure, but I couldn't find one. I ended up buying one of the excellent 'Black Series' figures and custom painting that instead. Then the TV series brought back Boba Fett and finally succeeded in making this character actually cool, and after seeing this video, I guess I'm looking to find a Bandai Boba Fett kit again ;-)

I used the Citadel Airbrush paints the colors are Flash Gitz Yellow, Word Bearers Red and Vulkan Green. I think the also come in the thicker brush on paint as well. Hope that helps. 😀

Red is a hard color to paint but if you paint it with a grey primer first it makes things way easier. I hope that helps answer your question. Cheers.

Heyoo, love the finished look with cloth goods on the non-armored areas. Could I ask that your method before placing the cloth in around the body is you dremeled it down? So you dremeled, then placed the cloth, then the armor plates? You had no issue placing the armor plates? I'm thinking of doing this to the bandai Mando. Hoping for your thoughts, thank you.

So I glued the cloth on the shoulder then pulled it tight and glued it again near the waist. Then I poked holes in the fabric and I don't know if it was just dumb luck but I was able to just fit the pieces in no problem.

I used small polystyrene rod. But I also had some old wire from a pair of headphones ready if needed. No real reason for using the polystyrene other than I had two scrap pieces. 😃

So I didn't really use any primer on this one because the base plastic was so close on color. I did do a flat white on the green arm pieces because I knew the red would have a hard time covering the green. That was just a Rustoleum flat white rattle can.

Thanks for your comment. Keep in mind I did this 8 months before SH announced the release so I got to enjoy it for the last 8 months. I would agree there's no "need" to make this other than the fact that sometimes it's just for the fun and the challenge of making something yourself. I had a great time making it and that's good enough for me. 😀
