Just so folks know, I'm fine. They're fine. I changed my mind, decided it wasn't worth it and spoke with my guidance consoler who helped me a lot. It's crazy, because up until my early 30s I was having nightmares about it and it was so frustrating. I'm a god damn adult. I'm safe. Why is this still haunting me. I am happy to report today I haven't had any of those nightmares for several years and am in a much better place. In my own personal experience, the only thing that can really help is time.
