His speech basically boils down to "Do not try to convince me of inner values because my outer appearance not only gets me discriminated but also leads to lethal self-hatred." It's not poorly written or unrealistic for a real life person to feel this exact way but here I can't take it seriously even as a joke because it's presented in this Dorkly-esque dark-"realism" comedy subversion style. It's shown as if he actually had made a good point when in actuality he's actually just reasonably depressed and venting out of of nowhere about an issue he not only can learn to live with but has at that moment lived through various character building experiences that would counter his pessimistic worldview. His feelings may be valid but it seems more like he is using them as an excuse to absolve himself from seeking happiness. Sincerely, someone who has no idea what they are talking about

@@DVDRAR You're correct about that. It's controversial because Seth Green didn't ask for permission to use Homestar Runner in a parody. The Brothers Chaps noticed, and surprise surprise, they weren't happy.
@user-lb9xw4xf2q2 ай бұрын
Weirdly, it showed they did some research because some of the references were deep cuts. The parody didn't work because it is inherently impossible to satirise; it's like doing a parody of Deadpool - it is already a comedy with satire ingrained into it, so trying to make a parody of it is doomed to fail. That said, the Napoleon Bonamite bit later worked pretty well.

Pilgrim" and then matthew patel asks for Scott C. Pilgrim and 20 people raise their hands, and he names off like 50 details and the same 20 people raise their hands for every single detail. Another one is where when Matthew Patel introduces himself as Ramona's first evil ex while doing his bollywood theatrics, he does an Indiana Jones and pulls out a gun and just shoots him like "I'm not dealing with this bullshit"
