I was only a small girl when all this happened between my family, the Taos pueblo people, and President Nixon. It is good to hear Bobbie Kilbergs talk about this time in our history and what her experience was. I am the Great Granddaughter of Juan de Jesus Romero, the Cacique, and I appreciate all her efforts towards this Native American land issue. She is a good speaker and really brings you into the story. President Nixon was a man of action. I'm so proud of him and also my Great Grandfather.

Marianne: Thank you for your comments. We are looking for a Tiwa voice to speak about this story. Would you, or someone in your family be interested in telling this story for your children on camera? We want the authentic story of the return of Blue Lake.

I just heard Aileen Black's interview of Bobbie Kilberg today discussing Bobbie's retirement, & I litteraly teared up listening to this technology leader & political appointee discuss her work & her soon to come retirement. I'm so fortunate to have this kind of access to one of our nation's great leaders. Kudos to Mrs. Bobbie Kilberg & the incredible work she has done for our nation & the global community.

I found the trail they used to get to blue lake using Google Earth. Its amazing, I want to hike to it and take pictures and collect some historical rocks. The trail head is at Williams Lake past the ski valley. This is the route I made since it ties into a trail we know here. I can see signs of a trail to Bear Lake as well. Really Amazing stuff.
